Propel Hood Trunk tie-Down Loops

These Hood & Trunk Tie-Down Loops are a perfect solution for securing gear to your vehicle. They fit perfectly on the couple of different vehicles I've tried with no issues, and the straps are strong and reliable. I use it to tie down my kayaks. Two to 4 kayaks can be hooked into each strap with a hook on the end of a rope. I used to use just plain straps that I screwed in under my hood but this is MUCH better! I can remove them easily instead of tucking my old straps under the hood. They work great! They are the right length and they are very sturdy. They should last almost forever!

Perfect product. Works perfectly to tie down my 13' Brooklyn Kayak Company fishing kayak for my Mazda CX-5. I have one tie down under the trunk and one under the hood, about 50% of the way up the hood. They stay in place and I just leave them in all the time. Works exactly as advertised, fair price, everything's perfect.

... to help protect my truck's paint and hold my kayak's bow securely. They are a decent, though simple, product that provide points to secure my boat's bow lines to the front of the car. They allow me to position the lines where I want them, and keep rope or straps from rubbing back and forth across my clear-coat. I took off one star because the rubber tubes that hold these loops to my car did not prevent the things from sliding toward the back of the engine bay, presumably from the wind. It was a simple matter to grab a couple zip ties and find a point along the edge of my engine bay to zip-tie these straps so they would no longer slide. Because that is such an easy fix, I only took off one star. I also would buy these again if I have a need, as once they're secured they work great.

Great tie downs. Many of today's vehicles do not have places to secure items to . I use these to secure my kayak to the front of my car. So much better an easier than what I had previously rigged up. Love them!

Drove 1,200 miles with these straps helping hold the kayak down. They worked great. The engine heat didn't bother the one stuck under the hood in August. These straps have proven to be durable and effective.

Except for maybe the battery bracket in the front and the spare tire bracket under the rear, the 2018 Toyota Highlander LE lacks good options for attaching front and rear tie-downs. These Propel loops fit securely into the small wells molded into the radiator shroud and behind the lip of the rubber cargo mat. So far they have provided strong, convenient attachment points, have not interfered with the hood or liftgate, and have not been affected by engine heat. 2022 Update: Sorry this is late, but I've been away from kayaking and just noticed this issue with a newer Highlander. The new design of the Highlander hood now interferes with a tie down loop at the front. The attached photo shows that on the 2021 LE model the hood closes with a tight narrow seal four inches behind the nose, different from the 2018 model where it over-hanged the grille with a more forgiving rubber seal underneath. Now there is not enough of a gap for the strap to get to/from the engine compartment.
