includes soft poly foam liner to seat your desktop speakers on
they were perfect for my A1's i bought through Walmart online. The problem is, the speakers were kinda flat sounding, almost like crappy computer speakers, and they were marketed as robust desktop speakers, intentionally for computer, but considering the price tag of the speakers, not so good. not good. anyway on to the stands, they worked great, were designed for the A1, A2, speakers that size. they have a liner on the area that comes into contact with the speakers, that they rest on, kinda a foam-ish sticker i imagine what they are, but they cushion the speaker and i imagine kinda allow the speaker to operate without shifting around at all. granted, the speakers could be moved off the stands, with no issue. but with the foam applique thats on there they really do stay in place, don't bounce around at medium to medium- high volume levels. I think actually they have a foam(same material) base that they rest on the table with. They are built of probably steel, well painted and seemed like they could provide years of service. i only had wished that all that time i had spent buying and surfing for some new desktop audio speakers for my computer that i had purchased something else, or stuck with what i had. I ended up buying the Bose Companion III or whatever they're called. I had given my old ones to my roommate for him to use, on his computer, and assumed that the new speakers, the A1's would be higher quality --- NOPE --- A1's kinda suck compared to the cheaper and better sounding Bose speakers. just a little plug from me. so in review and to conclude i bought the A1's, which were an older version of the A2's, i assume, so don't assume that Audioengine stuff necessarily stinks, because i didn't try the A2's , i went the cheaper route which was the previous years or year before that model. It may be that Audioengine has reinvested in the A2's and tweaked them a bit (hopefully for their sake). But if you like your A2's, and you need some perfectly suited stands, buy these stands, they will work perfectly for a desktop application. If you need them for speakers that are bigger than say A1, A2 size or so I wouldn't do it, these are mainly for small speaker situations. I don't think you could put much bigger speakers on these. They say you can put HD3's on there i think, check em out on the website. https://audioengine.com/shop/accessories/ds1m-desktop-stands/ Thanks I'm out.

Worth $10 More than Original
I wrote a review for the original version of these stands and this is the update I added after I compared the new and the old models. Bottom-line: this model is surely worth $10 more! FOLLOW-UP: Audiophile Update I decided to order the new version of the stands also to do a comparison of sound quality (A-B-A) between the two (like I said I am an audiophile). I completed this today, skeptical I would hear that big a difference - I was very wrong. Listing to a FLAC CD quality feed with my favorite music service it was immediately clear the new version of the stands (DS1M) are clearly an upgrade from the originals. Overall, the music “breathes” - there is more detail and clarity to the mids/highs and more pace and energy to the music (less sluggish and bloated). I am exchanging the originals for the new ones, at only $10 more than the original version it’s a no brainer for me (and anyone with a critical ear for music quality).

Fine, although really overpriced
The products works as intended. However it does gather dust easily, and isn't adjustable. There are soft cushion on the bottom that also gather dusts. It looks really solid especially with its finish, though u can easier spend the money on the kanto's stand and save 10 bucks.

Great stands- fit my needs
Purchased these stands to hold a pair of SVS Satellite Speakers for my desktop setup. The stands are well build and have foam/felt material on the bottom and top of the stands. They do a nice job of elevating the speakers to the sound is more inline with the listening position. I like the raised metal on the back of the stands to keep the speakers in place. Overall these are well made stands serve their purpose. Highly recommended.

SO MUCH better then Kanto stands!
I think these type of stands look much better then the rubber wedges AE sells. I ordered both these and the Kanto version of stands to compare both and see which i liked. These are made out of powder coated steel while the Kanto are aluminum. Let me say the second you hold both the decision is obvious, these look and feel 100X better then the Kanto which feel like cheap plastic in comparison. These are also just slightly wider making them just wider then the Audio engine A2+ instead of just slightly smaller with the Kanto, this gives a much better aesthetic. Sound is great and angle is perfect for use on a desk. If you looked at Kanto know these are by far worth the extra cost.

Good bookshelf speaker stands
These are good and sturdy stands and angled correctly to hold my bookshelf speakers for .y desktop. The only complaint I have is that they are a little too small.

Excelente suporte
O produto é resistente e tem um revestimento que protege o contato do metal com a mesa e com as caixas de som. São bem resistentes e estou com as caixas de som da Edifier S880DB-WT. Já senti diferença na projeção do áudio.
