Goes with a course
Excellent book for yoga teachers. Lots of options for teaching Menopause Yoga. Ideally to use along side the course, but stands on its own. Written in simple and split into useful sections.

Valuable for Teaching Menopause Yoga & Beyond
In this book, Petra shares her profound knowledge, personal experience and extensive research, endorsed by the medical profession. She provides a vital insight into the huge benefits of yoga and mindfulness (and much more!) to carry women through their menopause journey. It is brimming with inspiration and resources: a must-read for yoga teachers wishing to “educate to empower” their students during mid-life or “Second Spring” and to accompany and support them at every stage of the menopause.

Great guide for yoga teachers
A really helpful book for any yoga teacher with menopausal women in their class, whether it’s a regular class or a specialist menopause class. Given that 51% of the population experience menopause it’s pretty essential for all teachers to be aware of what their clients might be experiencing x

Written by a marketeer
Slightly perplexed about this book. Although the content is informative, the ownership of ‘Menopause Yoga’ jars a bit. The putting together of appropriate styles, techniques and teachings is what any well informed teacher would do to specialise in their given subject. Trademarking the format seems nonsensical to me.

Creating a career
I was honoured to complete Menopause Yoga Teacher certificate with Petra at Yoga Campus in the U.K. It is a great book for the individual or for someone looking to add to their classes.

I’m a Yoga Teacher AND Going Through Menopause…
I am currently writing a thesis for my yoga teacher training program where I chose Menopause & Yoga as my theme. Due to my own experiences and selfishly wanting to learn for myself, but ALSO because I want to bring this into my teaching. We have prenatal yoga in our world, why not menopausal yoga classes? Well, this book explains why we don’t have more of these classes and workshops (the stigma) and how we need to change this. One teacher at a time, one studio at a time, and create the ripple effect. There’s no reason why a woman should stop bringing movement and energy into her life at this stage. As Jane Fonda calls it, the “3rd Act”, which to Jane is the most important act in life. The one we are most known for and how people remember us most. I agree with Jane. So this “3rd Act” isn’t one where we need to stop, sulk, and just feel life is done because our reproductive life has come to and end. There are so many other parts of our life that are just as important, if not more! Our passions, our dreams, things we couldn’t do when we were raising children (if one is a mother), and interests that we were too distracted to enjoy when we were in our 1st and 2nd acts.I appreciate the Ayurvedic component of this and its importance with menopause. We learned about Ayurveda in my yoga teacher training and I continue to enjoy learning. I can’t wait to bring this into my own life along with the students I teach. I love the sample asana series that help with specific symptoms one is going through. I also strongly believe in the power of Pranayama (breathing) and value the techniques in this book with menopausal symptoms. Meditation is also so important, along with chanting, and I am happy that Petra includes these along with journaling. It’s hard for some to journal. Many roll their eyes at it in their 30’s-40’s because they are just “too busy” to do that. They are “too busy” to meditate. “Too busy” to rest and recharge. Reflect. The world is just “too busy”, especially for women. The badge of busy is not an award worth fighting for. I’m happy to be in a stage of more stillness and a book like this validates that.I’m looking forward to practicing Menopause Yoga in my own life and finding the power, confidence, calmness, and pride in my life at this stage. My “3rd Act” is my most important and I’m going to live my best life yet! Thank you Petra!
