This book helped me review math topics I forgot about and also helped me to learn everything I would need to know about the electrical subtest.I started with a diagnostic test and got decent scores on the afqt sections but terrible on the electric subtest. I needed a good score on the electric because the jobs I'm trying to get in the air force require a high electric score. So I read through the Arimethic Reasoning, Mathematical knowledge, and Electrical knowledge sections. After reading through the sections, I took one of the two practice tests and found I got more questions right.Just so you know, don't try to calculate your afqt score from how many questions you got right on the tests in this book. The questions in the real asvab are weighted on how difficult they are and if answered correctly will give you more points, giving you a better score. You can't find out which questions in this book give more points or their difficulty because that knowledge is kept secret by some u.s. department, I don't remember. Just try to get more questions right on the tests in this book and if you do you're more likely to get a higher score on the actual asvab.The first practice asvab test was in my recruiter's office and I got an afqt score of 77. After studying and taking practice tests, I got a afqt score of 92 and a score of 94 on the Electrical subtest on the actual asvab. My recruiter told me he had a guy get an afqt score of 16 on the practice test, studied this book, then came back and got an afqt score of 62. This book works.Tldr: The book has almost all the knowledge you would need to get a good score on the asvab. Read through sections you need to learn or review. The book's test questions aren't weighted so they don't reflect real asvab scores, just try to get more questions right. This book helped me get much higher scores on the asvab.

I bought this for a young man I was helping prepare for the ASVAB and his scores improved radically. I read several parts of it and found it easy to read and understand. A couple years ago I took an ASVAB practice test for “fun” and quickly found I knew nothing regarding electricity, motors, assembling items… This book helped me improve the few parts I’ve taken time to look at.Be advised: My young man who used the book was very motivated to enter the military and to have choices. He studied this book many hours, took notes, looked up YouTube videos for things he didn’t understand, and asked older men who had been in the business. He took many practice tests. This was something he wanted!

Great book! It has plenty of practice problems so that I know right where I stand. I got 79% on the practice problem and 57 online. The online version is harder the written version.

Exactly what I needed

Helped me get a 99 overall on the asvab. Really took advantage of the physical and online practice tests it provided but mostly learned everything from the textbook. Practice tests at the end really helped with hammering the information into my brain. I mostly wanted to study to ensure I qualified for intelligence jobs. I'd say this is your one stop shop for any job you want to qualify for.

This is a Must have for anyone planing on going into any branch of the United States military to get prepped for ASVAB testing! Two thirds of this book is to study and take timed example test for the real thing and one third is for flash cards if you need that for extra help. Remember the higher the test score the better you are and the more you will advance!

Even if you feel fairly confident, I would recommend purchasing this. It’s not expensive, and it helps a lot. It breaks down everything into each of the sections you will be tested on and also gives online access to their system and shows your videos of how exactly to do things. Explains everything great and the book has lots of small things that you might not remember. Helped me score much higher than I thought I would.
