CRL General Purpose Windshield and Back Glass Rubber Installation Tool

The tool worked perfectly. I ground and polished the tip down a little.

This tool was crititcal for installing the trim on my MGB GT windshield. If everything was lubricated 'just right', the rubber lip would ride up the tool and over the trim. Be careful! the tip is VERY sharp. It WILL poke through the rubber and make pock marks. I would, if I use this again, file down the tip to be a bit more blunt. It drew blood more than a couple times in my project, when the tool slipped and hit my other hand (holding the trim itself) Other installers have used string and other methods to install the windshield trim on classic cars, but used carefully, this tool will make it go pretty fast. There is a knack to using this tool. Once you 'get it' it works great. When you first start using it, it will be difficult at best. It is simple, but it takes practice to master.

Made in USA, hard to get better than that. Well-made tool that does what it's supposed to do.

The hook tool that I wanted was in the picture! BUT, instead of the CLEAR handle with the white engraving, I got one that came with a RED handle with the white engraving. Just be aware, you may get the clear or the red handle. At least I think you might get clear… Overall, great product and still gets the job done!

I am a glazier by trade, and of all the hook tools I’ve owned this is the best one so far. From durability to length of the pick. It’s the perfect size, and I’ve owned many different brands. So if you are still debating on which hook tool to buy this is the one.

This tool is very nicely made and I find it also comes in handy for things other than just rubber windshield gaskets and lock strips. It's been especially useful for removing O-rings and pulling seals in things like pump flanges and appliances. The tool is approximately 7-5/8" long overall, so is like a full-size screwdriver handle with a sharp, bent probe pick tip. It's made in the USA by Wilde Tool and has been a very useful multipurpose tool, so feel it was well worth what I paid for it here on Amazon.
