Nice qualitypuzzle
Really nice quality puzzle. It’s a bit difficult but was satisfying to complete it.

Challenging Fun
I just finished assembling this puzzle after quite a bit of solo work. It was a truly enjoyable challenge and the best kind of puzzle -- one where you feel a little daunted but never think "I'll never get this done." The cut on my puzzle was the kind with all the same type of pieces (so not random) and it was fine -- once or twice I had the wrong piece in the wrong spot but it was a rare occurrence and definitely not annoying. The finished product is gorgeous! I highly recommend this puzzle for someone who likes a real challenge.

Very difficult
Only puzzle I have ever done since I was a kid. Was for a coworkers birthday present. I think for me the hardest part was the middle. All of the parts look the same. Take your time going out to inwards and don’t get too frustrated. Take breaks, some pieces look just like each other. Took me about 3weeks to a month to complete.

Very Difficult
This was a gift for a puzzle expert. I received the grid cut version of this puzzle. The quality is very good. Some people have stated that they received a version with a sort of random jigsaw cut. If so, I don't see how they ever got them finished. The hardest part were the dark pieces toward the bottom and left. Sometimes only three to four pieces were installed per hour during the "dark" phase. Once the sky was reached, things sped up a little. If you want a puzzle that will drag out for many days, this is the one. Update: The quality was superb. There were no pieces missing. Once about half the sky was done, it started to speed up a little. We estimate it took 20-25 hours to finish it.

Nice
Purchased for a gift but we ended up returning it. That was strictly a purchase decision on our part and had nothing to do with the product itself. The quality of this brand is nice. The pictures have always been great with this brand. The cost is fine. I would recommend purchasing this brand of puzzle.

You are accepting a challenge.
My mom and I get together once a month to do a puzzle. Always 1000 pieces or more, so we are not puzzle newbies. After putting together another art puzzle (Audrey of Mulberry; by another company) it gave us both a deeper appreciation of the work, so we jumped at the chance to do this one. Some positives for me are that this company prints most of their puzzles in the USA (to me a plus) and I can report that I have not had a puzzle with so little puzzle dust after the original sort. Upon completion the image is crips with a fair good amount of detail. As for the image "Starry Night" was painted using only 5 colors and is done in the impressionist style (if you didn't know). The limited color palette and impasto brush strokes going in every direction made this challenging enough. The real kicker of this puzzle was that all of the pieces (not counting the border) are all a for of the traditional H shape piece (2 tabs, and 2 blanks). What normally takes us a few hours, took us days. For a minimum of 4 hours each day we worked on it. The last day we had 264 pieces left it took us a combined 11 hours. Now that it has been a few months since we completed it and we are no longer mad enough to go Van Gogh crazy, I can say that I did enjoy the puzzle (Mom is still on the fence) and I did find new things to enjoy about "Starry Night", but it was tougher than anticipated. It was a challenge we accepted but we are both glad it's over.

Must be different versions of the puzzle
1000 PIECE VERSION The pieces are all cut practically the exact same (see photo). Several pieces weren’t fully cut through and the pieces don’t have a good “lock” when put together. By virtue of being an impressionist painting, the puzzle is challenging. Since the pieces are all cut the same, it was challenging and boring, perhaps tedious. Difficulty: 4/5 (box is very helpful) Picture quality: 4/5 Piece quality: matte Type of pieces: regular, 4-sided with exclusively opposing knobs Shape: Rectangular, landscape 2000 PIECE VERSION Challenging with funky pieces. Difficulty: 4/5 (box is very helpful) Picture quality: 4/5 Piece quality: semi-gloss Type of pieces: irregular with knobs and tabs Shape: Rectangular, landscape

Nice quality, but buyer beware of the cut!!
So here is the deal....I researched this image and decided on this brand because of the really good reviews especially the first one which showed a pic of the really cool piece designs, dastardly cuts. That intrigued me, so I bought it. Box is great, very well put together, however, to my extreme dismay, the puzzle that I received was a ribbon cut, all the pieces are the EXACT SAME DESIGN! That is not what I was expecting to receive what so ever. What a fraud. I wrongly assumed I would get a random cut puzzle because that is what I like to complete and work on, not this piece of junk ribbon cut version. Rip off city. I contacted the manufacturer and they were of absolutely no help at all. They do not have the capability to even know what kind of cuts are in their puzzle boxes. Can you imagine that nonsense?? True. I read somewhere else too that all of their puzzles will be ribbon cut in the future, cannot verify that, but that would not surprise me at all. If a puzzle is a ribbon cut, that should be clearly marked on the box. If you want to put together a puzzle where every piece looks the same, be my guest. Not my cup of tea at all. Very, very disappointed! If someone can direct me to this same puzzle with a random cut piece design, please do so. I would appreciate that very much!

I love the Eurographics 1000 piece Fine Art range and I have now bought 5, completed 3 and I'm working on this one. I love the irregularly shaped pieces, the quality and thickness of the cardboard is perfect. The colour matching of the box print and the jigsaw print is excellent and it needs to be as these puzzles are hard! This Van Gogh Starry night is the most enjoyable jigsaw I have ever done. It is just the right level of difficulty for me. His broad, thick paint application means that each piece can be identified by careful study of the box picture but mostly not immediately. The completed size of these is also perfect for me in that I can complete it from a sitting position. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a reasonably challenging jigsaw. I have also completed The Lady of Shallot by Waterhouse, The Tree of Life by Klimt and Frida Kahlo's Self Portrait. The Lady of Shallot was too difficult for me to be properly enjoyable as there is a lot of indistinct brown and black. The Tree of Life was maddening because of all the similar spirals but I got there and the artwork is so beautiful that helped. Kahlo's Portrait was the easiest I have done but the portrait layout meant it was hard to reach the top pieces. I imagine I will work my way through more of the series. I have Van Gogh's Almond Blossom in waiting.

Wonderful experience. Excellent printing and very precise pieces. It is by far the most difficult jigsaw that we have encountered. Partly due to the master's strokes and partly due to variety or random shapes and sizes of the puzzle pieces. First timers will struggle but experienced will enjoy incredibly.
