Holy freaking cow! These were truly the first words that came to mind as I peeled back the tissue paper, opened the satin drawstring bag, and saw my knife roll for the first time. I knew immediately that I had received something that was not just beautiful, but that was incredibly high quality as well.

The first thing I noticed was the beauty and thickness of high quality leather that make up the body of the bag and the beautifully sewn layered leather that make up it's straps. The straps are fitted with extra strong and durable buckles and there are two strap holders to securely keep the ends (once bucked) secured to the bag. leather In the center is a brushed metal Dalstrong logo. As I continued to turn the bag in my hands the full length leather logoed handle caught my attention. Each end of the handle is triple riveted and has a thick D ring attached where the shoulder leather strap attaches. Just like the straps that secure the bag’s closure, this shoulder strap is thick, layered leather with excellent strong and even sewing. The shoulder strap contains a heavy duty buckle with 6 holes punched in the leather to make it fully adjustable to fit your personal preference of length and comfort. The hardware attaching the shoulder strap to the bag has a clip fastener that I found to be one of the best thought out fasteners I’ve ever had. Again, heavy duty hardware but it has a thumb latch that allows you to smoothly hook and unhook the strap from your bag. The beauty in the hook is that unlike other heavy duty hooks, you DON’T have to apply a ton of pressure just to hold it open and scratch up your D ring each time you place and remove it, but that it also a safety feature of a long extension built into the hook when the thumb lever is depressed. That way, there has to be intention to remove the hook from the D-ring, so if the lever is accidentally ever caught on something for a moment, you will never lose the bag off your shoulder.Continuing to the back of the roll, I found another innovative and convenient feature that I instantly fell in love with. There is a full leather zippered pouch attached to the roll that is perfect for securing my personal/non kitchen tool items. I use it for my keys, money, credit cards and whatever else I need to carry with me from location to location. It even has a built in business card holder on the outside of the pouch for quick and easy access without having to unzip the pouch or open the roll.From the moment I actually opened the knife roll, the WOW factor of this piece just continued to hit me. There was absolutely no skimping here either on design or quality. Another full-length zippered leather pouch can be found with enough room to hold everything you could possibly need to bring with you. At the bottom of the pouch is a snapped leather cover that when opened and both the cover side and the pouch side are pulled back exposes another snapped in leather cover with 14 pockets (7 at the top and 7 at the bottom) for knives and kitchen tools. This thing just keeps going and going in crafting details. The 7 pockets at the top are offset slightly from the pockets on the bottom to allow the knife blades to have their own space without overlap. Each pocket is securely sewn and riveted to the roll with a stretchy but strong elastic in the pocket to help secure each knife handle no matter how it is shaped. There is a an additional snap on leather cover in the center to protect the blades and keep them in place during transport. Once this area is secured and snapped back into place there are an additional 2 pockets, securely sewn and riveted, to the right designed for longer slicing knives. There are two leather wraps sewn into the roll that are designed to go around the blades of these knives and keep them secure as well. Finally to the right of this, there are two elasticized pen holders sewn into the bag, so you always have them close at hand.I’ve spent a small fortune over the years putting together a collection of high quality knives that will hopefully be lovingly used long after I am no longer here to do so myself. I cannot think of a better way to protect this investment, but to also give me the freedom to take my tools with me wherever and whenever I need them with true class and style.

Gave this to my executive chef friend as a gift. He is extremely picky and took a very long time to even tell me what he was interested in. We were not let down. Beautiful product and perfectly made. The leather is great and he is over the mood happy with it. Of course packed it is a bit heavy so the shoulder strap is good to use for it. It even came beautifully packed in a silk bag and box with tissue paper. Very happy with this product. Worth the price.

This quality of this bag is on par with designer handbags. The craftsmanship is superb. The supple leather unrolls perfectly to hold tight your knives and tools. Highly recommend.

For the price this should have gone through some quality control. The snaps came off the first time I opened it. Real shame too I was picking a matching set of their knives to fill this thing but if they ain't checking their products I can't spend the money

This bag is built to pass on to your kids. Well made and spacious but it rolls up to a compact size. The hardware is heavy duty and I think this will be a great knife roll.
