One of the Best Home/Office Printers I've Ever Owned
After reading (too many) of the negative reviews, I was hesitant to order this HP laser printer. But looking at my options and my budget, I decided to give it a try. After a few days of use, I am extremely pleased with this printer. First of all, the setup was a lot easier for me than many of the reviewers experienced. Basically, I took it out of the box, plugged it in and got ready to use the HP123.com set up app. (The toner cartridge was pre-installed.) I set the printer up using my iPhone as I already had an HP 9018 color inkjet printer in my office (another great printer by the way). I would recommend NOT trying to set this up via your computer, if you have a smart phone available. The HP123 app set up this printer on my 3 wireless laptops without a hitch in less than a minute each. For my 15-year-old Dell XPS tower desktop that does not have a wireless connection**, the HP app was able to find that computer on my network and set it up to print -- also in less than a minute. I was able to print a test page from all 4 of my computers, an Apple iPad, and 3 Apple iPhones in less than 20 minutes total. The print quality is what you would expect from a 300dpi laser printer. Good enough for a home office. The speed? Well, I was replacing a 30-year-old HP Laserjet 4MP where the power supply finally died, so the speed was amazing compared to that older printer. It's quiet too. About the same as the color HP 9018 as far as loudness. The scan and copy functions are fast and produce good copies. The auto-document feeder works as expected. This new printer has not lost the wireless connection a single time since I installed the printer. Of course, I can't speak to the longevity of this printer. But if it continues to work as it has been, I am going to be extremely happy with this HP product. The price has been ranging between $149, $199, and $279. At the two lower prices, I think this is a 5-star printer for a home office. At $279, I might want to check other options. I highly recommend this printer. I have zero association with HP, although I will acknowledge that I have owned the HP Laserjet 4MP, the Deskjet 990c, and the Inkjet HP 9018. All served me well and I think this one will do the same. I should note that the printer does not come with a user manual that would show you all the functions and how to use them. I'm assuming I can find a manual somewhere on the HP.com website. ** I thought I was going to have to use a USB A-B cable (not included) to get this to print to my old Dell desktop. But once the HP123 app saw the printer on my network, the USB cable was not needed. But there is a USB connection if you do need it for an older system.

Great printer for remote work and home uses
Have 2 of this printer for home printing needs. Easy setup, reliable and scanning capabilities. Ink seems to last a very long time g time and replacements are reasonably priced for the life cycle. Very happy with it.

Small, full-featured, fast, phenomenal!
Over the years I've owned many printers, but this was my first HP LaserJet. It was well-packaged, and I could easily remove it from the box without help. I placed it on a small table in the corner, and got to setting it up. The set-up process was incredibly easy. Using the built-in buttons on the printer, I was able to switch into wireless setup mode. I downloaded the HP Smart App from the windows store, and the software quickly found the new LaserJet. My windows desktop was able to supply the wifi password directly to the printer, with a single button click, and from there, the printer drivers installed. Within a few minutes I was able to see the ink level displayed (full), and I was ready to go. So far I have printed several legal briefs, and scanned them back in with my handwritten notes using the auto document feeder. The text has been super sharp when printed, and when scanned. We have also done some test prints from our mobile devices (email attachments), and they too came out super quickly. It really is awesome how everything just 'works.' I appreciate the ability to connect via AirPrint or direct Wifi as we have a mixture of devices in the house. This way, everyone can enjoy the benefits of our new LaserJet. I hope to try out the scan-to-email functionality soon. It looks like a powerful feature that will save us even more time in the future. I highly suggest picking this HP LaserJet up. Five stars.

Don't buy it!
Print quality is good. That's all I can say positively. I bought it to have a scanning capability, but there is no scanner button on the printer. You must use an app which means the scanned document is now on my phone. You have to place the document on the printer so why not have a scanning button there so the document can go directly to your computer? I never got the wireless to work after at least a dozen tries with an uninformative error message that says it failed and try again. No amount of google searches on youtube videos diagnosed the problem so the printer has a cable to my computer. It has two-sided printing. On my older HP printer that means it prints one page and then prints on the backside of that same page. Not this one. I was asked to review a 230 page manuscript. It printed half of the document on one side and then I was instructed to turn the pages over to print the other pages which in theory should have a document properly paginated. In theory. Instead there was some type of network connection error, so the system started printing the document again from the start. I now have a couple hundred pages of disorganized reading. I'm reverting to my older HP. I regret not returning this printer during the allowable time. Its only redeeming value is that its print quality is good.

Worth the price? Yes.
This is a great little printer. It can be connected via ethernet or wireless with ease. Works well with HP smart for scanning, faxing or copying. I gave it a four-star rating because the control panel is mounted on the paper tray, I am not a big fan of that feature; but it does work flawlessly so far. I see this as only a possible draw back to me and time will tell. This is offset by a plus. It does make double sided copies when needed, that saves paper. I don't require colored copies for home use. This printer has a small footprint, so it doesn't require a lot of space. Is it worth the price? I would have to say yes. Ink cartridges for this, like most printers is a big factor to consider if you do a large amount of printing you may want to think about it. There is an X type one available capable of more copies. This is my honest review as an uncompensated user of this printer. I trust that this review may help someone.

Versatile in printing.
When first setting up and unboxing this printer I asked myself how is this printer so small but have so many capabilities. It takes up a very small footprint on your desk. This is great for small businesses and small families. You can set up this printer anywhere in your house and be able to print. This is where the versatility of this printer comes into play. You just need the HP app on your phone to set it up and start printing without a PC. I love this! If you do want to print the traditional way with a PC or Mac, you can. I used a USB cord with my Mac and it was found very easily. Either way works for this printer. This is the best thing of this printer. The many options to print is amazing. Here are all the ways to print HP app, usb, airprint, and android IP. If you have trouble printing one way you can just use another way. This is so much easier to set up and makes it more versatile. I'm coming from a dumb laser printer that only used a USB cord to print. Not having to have a PC always on in order to print is such a time saver. Also being able to keep this HP printer on without heating up my room and dim our lights to keep itself warmed up. This HP printer I can keep on all the time without these issues. The interface on the actual printer is small, simple and to the point. Which is great since mostly all the advance options are being done on your phone or the app interface. This printer also offers duplex printing which saves a lot on paper. HP also offers a subscription service that keeps track of your pages printed and will send out ink as you need it. They offer a two month trial which is basically free tone for two months. Just pick the right plan and print away without worrying about you ink level, ever. This HP printer is so much fun to use.

Excellent One Stop Shop Small Business Printer
If you are a looking for a one stop pro Black/White printer solution for your small business needs, this is it! It has amazing printing speeds and wifi connectivity features that will make your life easier. My HP LaserJet M234sdw printer was a breeze to setup and use. I like really like the build quality as it looks really nice on our station. The print speed is quick and consistent with more than 30 pages per minute; more importantly we didnโt have any ink smudges and paper print quality looks and feels amazing. We had a print job of over 300 pages and it was able to handle it without an issue or taking a break. The Setup was super simple and easy. The HP app was great as we it guided us through the entire process. The rest of the setup was pretty intuitive and self-explanatory. I highly recommend getting the HP Instant Ink service as we got two month free and the toner rates seemed comparable to other off label toners especially when to signup for higher print page tiers. I love that It is also able to print thick stock papers which makes it a breeze for printing posters. I also love the fact that we can scan directly to phone as previously I needed to install desktop software to do that. It also has a mobile fax feature which can be setup on HP's account and auto prints as fax's come in. If I really need to get nitty picky, I wish they have the control screen on the printer rather than the paper tray. The paper tray had a wobbly tendency so when you touch the scan button, it wouldnโt always recognize the first time, having a touchscreen I feel like would have been better. But also think about it, being an office printer, I have been able to use the printer with gloves on, which I think wouldnโt have been possible with a touch screen. Other than this minor inconvinence, this is an excellent printer. Overall, we are really satisfied with the printer and love the speed along with the HP app to keep the printer secure along with some of the scanning features. Highly recommend this product for anyone looking for high speed high quality printing solution.

Excellent Multi Finction Printer!!
I started with the box arriving on time and mostly undamaged. It had a small dent in the corner of the box from shipping. I opened the box and found that the dent had no effect on the product. The rest of the unboxing went smoothly. The process of removal of the packing material was very well thought out. I proceeded to try to install it on my network. The instructions talk about disabling your VPN. I kept the VPN off. I had a hard time getting the HP Smart software to find the printer from my desktop. I finally realized that my antivirus software was still engaged. As soon as I temporarily disabled the antivirus the rest of the installation process went smoothly. After the printer was found, the antivirus was able to be turned back on without problems. I like the advanced features of this unit for the price. It can scan multiple pages with the document feeder. It can print from the same duplex feeder. The HP Smart software makes these features seamless and easy to use. The only thing that I was disappointed with is the fact that it only had one paper tray. I do occasionally print to legal size paper and I had 2 trays, one of legal and one of letter size paper on a prior unit. But I can easily swap out the stack of paper when I need to change sources. Once you purchase a laser printer you will never go back to an inkjet. The price of this machine is very nice for everything that it can do. It basically replaces 3 machines in the office. One function that I have not used yet is the fax function. Basically, HP is offering a fax on demand from the scanner service. I still have an old fax that scans just fine and I can usually print to another source. I look forward to printing complex tasks like Christmas cards and envelopes, tax returns, and other legal sized, double-sided documents. This printer should serve all of my needs except color printing for years to come. It is really great and they have come a long way in small office level printers. I am impressed.

Einrichtung hat etwas gedauert, da mein Handy den Drucker nicht gefunden hat, aber als es dann ging, war es kein Problem den Drucker auf weitere Laptops und Handys zu installieren

Good but not great
printer performs nicely and does all you would expect. However i am a bit disappointed on the software provided by HP. It does not have some simple OCR text recognition capabilities which much cheaper scanners have as a standard for many years. As well bare bones scanning file type options. Hopefully HP updates the software down the road. As a basic all in one scanner/copier/printer i would still recommend but not best in class budget. Consider Brother's similar product for a bit more.
