His Alpha: Curving Straight Lines (The Curving Series Book 1)

Great author, but...
Never in your stories do you place emphasis on the importance of life's fulfilment. You talk all about how mates are scared, but then trample on them in the name of love, but then love doesn't conquer all either! It's really frustrating. The Wildflower series you managed to kill both the concept of love and mates. By the 3rd book, which I skimmed, because I was so angry, I hated your idea of life. Kennedy should've been able to come out the other side with at strong mate bond to develop into love. Instead you killed her off, she already suffered horribly enough, and that left all the others to suffer the ripple. Now you stomp all over this mate pairing for being MM...AGAIN crushing both love and mate bonds. What's the point? I'm ashamed of your oppression...other authors embrace this concept while you ruin it. It's really a shame too, because I enjoy your writing otherwise...Even though MM isn't my normal genre. So DISAPPOINTED, AGAIN.

My heart hurts, in a very good and a horrible heartbreaking, bittersweet kind of a way
Oh man, where do I even start....I rarely ever cry at media. This, however...this REALLY got to me. I need a nap after this one.**Spoilers are mentioned ahead, so read at your own risk!**Let's start with Tate.I wanted to hate Tate. I really did and I still do, but by the end of it, realizing he's trapped in a house with people who will always have their prejudices, and it's going to be a never ending cycle for him. So hard in fact they are willing to make their son miserable enough want to unexist, makes my heart hurt for him and that girl they brought in. They ingrained it so deep into him that he couldn't ever consider accepting himself. There was a small part of him that knew, but he chose being the "perfect alpha" over his happiness, and that makes me hurt for him. I don't condone his behavior to Tommie in any way though. He was horrible to him and made him suffer so much just to convince himself. That wasn't fair to him. Knowing Tommie was suffering just as much, he had the means to try to make it easier on themselves, but he chose to "prove a point" to Tommie at every single opportunity he could. He settled for him being chased, having to give up his pack and his family, out over losing everything he had. Even if they couldn't have ended up together, he could have been a better person to some degree. So much of what he did wasn't necessary, even though I get a lot of it was trying to convince himself, right up to the end. Hazel was 100% right, he never gave him a chance to be allowed to fit in, and that entire novel made that point really clear.Tommie, my boy my BOOOOOY I would give you the world and more. Tommie is such an amazingly complex character with so much layering it was a heartbreaking journey to see him find himself. I hate part of the journey, that professor of his was a terrible person who just took advantage of his newfound loneliness, but Tommie knows this now. He also took away so much from that part of his life. He may have regrets, but he's clearly grateful that by the time he leaves he can accept himself without regrets. I was curious about Tommie during 'Cassius'. I wondered why this guy and Hazel were such a weird one off. It was amazing learning about them. He was a kind soul to Addie because he knows what it feels like to be unseen, he was patient with those who may not have deserved it because he knew what it was like to be unacceptable. He loved so fully, even though it costed him his mate. I get why he had to ask for him in the end, just the once. Tate is his mate after all. I can see why he needed it to be able to move on. I'm glad he may have a chance at a good future, that even though he had to leave he has a chance to start over and be himself without any judgements against him.Heck, I wanted to hate Hazel too, but by the end of this I want to know even more about her and I'm so glad she went after Tommie. I have such a newfound respect for her as a character, especially being able to experience the Cash Date from her POV. She's such a good person with a good and big heart, just surrounded by an exterior she had to build to protect whatever part of her heart she had left. I don't blame her for having to look out for herself, and even though their dynamic is odd, her and Tommie are really great friends.'His Alpha' had me questioning the mate bond, but in a good way. We always expect sunshine and rainbows, happy endings with pups and endless love. We have to consider though, that for some it's just not possible. That the road is hard, it isn't always beautiful, and sometimes mates can't have what they want or need in the end. They have to do what's best for themselves, for whatever reason. This is full of very real and very raw emotions and situations, and I'm glad it avoided being a cliche attempt at a M/M novel. This is so far from cliche. This also gives me a glimpse into those individuals who don't have safe spaces and environments to be who they are and love who they want, and to all of you I genuinely hope you can find your happiness. If you don't have anyone, know that this stranger on the web will always support and root for you. You have someone here, I promise, so try to be a Tommie. Try to find a good place, start over, or start beginning. I really hope you can do it. Once again, I have to tip my hat to the author. This book will hurt your heart, I assure you, but it is absolutely worth the read, and I couldn't recommend it more.

Really good book, highly recommend unique story wonderfully written
This author has a gift for writing. The depth of emotions she is able to write down has you hooked from the start. This is not an easy story, its sad and gut wrenching at times but there are also hope and comfort too. Such a range o f emotions. I feel for Tommie and found myself so invested in his and other characters storyline. I hope there is another book to this series soon!! I read her other two books (wildflower series) just as great as this one. I rarely write reviews, but I need to say that her books are really really worth the time and price.

Wow, just wow...
I love Rachelle's writing and I've had this one for quite a while. Just never got around to doing a review. My bad! There are all kinds of people. And there are all kinds of intolerance. I love this story because it actually gives Tommie hope at the end. Even though his mate will be miserable because he couldn't fight his parents' prejudices. This has a lot of the same characters as the Wildflower series, so if you've read those, this will be familiar for you. I loved this one and highly recommend it.

His Alpha, is a story that let's us see that all things isnt black and white and written in stone
I used this story for my reading pleasure. His Alpha is a wonderful story. Some might not take to a story plot of the same sex relationships, but it is truly a great read, and without this story,I truly don't think the Series can be complete. Rachelle Mills never fails to take you away, and give you a frontrow and center feel of the story as the characters takes the story and us as the readers on a journey as the story line unfolds. I love all of Rachelle's work that I have read on Wattpad and can't wait for more. I have read everything Rachelle has let us share with her on Wattpad and as a greedy reader can't see my self not reading more of her work. Love it all and truly recommend that you read everything see gives us. She has a special way with words and making it a work of art.

2018 Must Read
Rachelle Mills is one of my favorite young authors. Her unique voice is refreshing. She knows how to engage the reader draws you into her world of characters and makes you care for them. She writes with feeling and without fear. Her books and characters stay with you long after the last page. She is an auto buy for me regardless of genre or theme she is just that skillful. Now onto His Alpha. This is a paranormal book but also a book about facing your fears. This is Tommies story. He is beta, young, handsome and any mother’s dream mate for her daughter. Only thing is Tommie found his mate very young, they grew up together. Tommies mate just happens to be his best friend and Alpha. This book takes you through Tommie life his heartache of loving someone who is in denial of who he is and who he loves. A definite must read about love and it’s the nexpected obstacles.

5 star heartbreaking read ❤️
His Alpha is the first published Mills book I read. I wasn't too familiar with her writing back then and so, despite the raving reviews, didn't expect much more than shifter smut. Boy was I wrong, His Alpha is so much more. The writing is beautiful and my heart broke repeatedly for the characters. I just need to give Tommie a suffocating hug, he has a beautiful soul and deserves the purest of love. We're also introduced to Hazel, perhaps my most favourite Mills character. She's more than a little rough around the edges and acts like she's only out for herself, which you learn as you read on couldn't be further from the truth.A 5 star read that I highly recommend!

A mind field of emotions but worth every second
His Alpha is not something I expected to enjoy. But once again Rachelle Mills has a way of bewitching readers with her hypnotic writing style. The characters are multi layered and complex, whilst still being relatable and enjoyable to read.Every chapter leaves you craving more, making it impossible to put down. With great highs, forbidden love, to manipulation, budding friendships, fresh hopes, erotica and true heart break. It's a true rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish. 🌸

5 stars writing!
I've only just discovered this amazing writer a couple of days ago! Now I cant wait for the next book she writes! Tommie's story is about self growth, heart ache and acceptance. I love how Rachelle Mills gives a little insight of others views of their life and struggles they face. I do hope it leads to a happy ending for them.
