YOU MUST REMOVE THE FIRST BLACK PAGE. My heart also skipped a beat. I use that black page frequently. When taking photos, as a separator, as a protector. I LOVE these pre glued blocks. It stops the worry of sticking the paper down, I’m no good at that. I would rather pay a little more for the glued block. Take care! There is a little slit at the top of the block you separate the pages with a palette knife, I use a guitar plectrum. The paper quality is fantastic, almost like cardboard when dry so really durable. It has a lovely texture. Once you get past the “phaff” of separating the glued pages, and learn a technique that makes it easier, it is fabulous to work with. True. It’s a bit pricey. I practise new ideas on another watercolour paper.
