The conclusion to this jazz method starts with a review of concepts from Intermediate Jazz Keyboard and quickly moves on to more advanced concepts of chord voicings, modal soloing, substitution, reharmonization, modes of the minor scales, diminished and whole-tone scales, walking bass, stride piano technique, non-diatonic progressions and much more. The perfect launching pad for a lifetime of discovery and joy of playing music, this is an essential vehicle for any keyboardist's journey into jazz. The CD includes examples and opportunities to play along. Review: Best value jazz book - Like a lot of aspiring jazz musicians, I've accumulated a stack of practice and practice cd books, from improvization, style, scale and chord books to transcription ones. Hands down, this book is the best value and taught me more than any other. The book covers the following each in their own chapter: modal playing, substitution and reharmonization, new scales, triads and pentatonics, and solo playing. Within these chapters he covers walking bass, stride styles, as well as bebop and post-bop styles. Best of all though is the combination of original compositions which are based on the particular thing being taught--you can hear these on the separately sold cd--which starts the tune with the rhythm section and then drops out the piano part to let you play. The charts are easy to read, and Baerman provides just enough explanation--not too much and not too little. In other words, it's a perfect mix of explanation/theory, practice, and playing. Review: A Must Have with the Book - I bought the book without the CD years ago and never improved my jazz skills with the book alone. I lost interest and stopped trying. I recently bought the CD because of my increased interest in jazz keyboard and what a difference in understanding the instruction! The jazz bass and drums that accompany the piano improvisation lessons makes every exercise in the book sound fantastic. Highly recommended if you get the book.

A thorough and professionally well thought out Jazz Piano book for beginners. Easy to understand. I believe it is all you need to learn the basics of jazz piano.

Jazz Keyboard Method Book
Very good lesson book for Jazz Keyboard. Explains each concept clearly and concisely. I got mine without the CD, but having the CD would make it even more easy to learn.

Good for advance beginner
Good instructions for a more advanced beginner, song selection examples not my favorites.I would have preferred more classic jazz, Herbie Hancock for example.

Good book, Kindle version is read perfectly (even images)
Good book, Kindle version is read perfectly (even images). But beware it is really "beginning" (I mean, if you're not a real beginner, you could probably find this book boring).

Chapuza digital de la editorial
La edición Kindle no contiene audio ni posibilidad de conseguirlo. La editorial muy atentamente, eso sÃ, me dijo que por eso eran tan baratos (?!) Para editar digital mediocremente mejor no lo hagan.

Three Stars
It is a good method but the kindle version does not let you access to any online audio.

We bought this book which appeared to be 'the complete' book but actually there are 3 books (each a similar price). Be careful to check which one you are buying before you buy it!!! We got the wrong one and now have to order the other ones.
