Lifan LF152F-3Q 3 HP 79cc 4-Stroke OHV Industrial Grade Gas Engine with 18mm Keyway Shaft, Recoil Start and Universal Mounting Bolt

In the process of building a log splitter I needed a engine and started looking. I was looking for one at a decent affordable price. I saw the Lifan 6.5 hp and read some reviews about it. Found good reviews and could not beat the price so decided to buy. It arrived in a slightly damaged condition, the dent in the tank was minor and does not affect the operation. I filled engine with oil and fuel, three pulls later it was running. Excellent starting and running, started with 1-2 pulls since, every time and I really like the fuel shut off. I can't comment on longevity but for the price and quality I received it will probably last as long as other makes and possibley longer. Time will tell. I will be buying another in the future.

Lifan 190 engines arrive with heavy cartons & 4 pieces foam packing and owner manual in legible print with spare parts. No shipping damage, unlike $300 engines direct from China. Cylinders have steel sleeves. Fuel tank has heavy cap with large threads. Engine also has a balance shaft. 15 HP engine I have has mount ring with 4 threaded holes of M8-1.0 X 25 mm. 4 more mount holes are not equally spaced, sized M10-1.25. Maybe also 25 mm deep? Shaft is slotted with key supplied. Shaft end is threaded 5/16" fine. Many shaft shapes, lengths & mount thread options exist. lLifan seems not to know which Amazon shipped. Lifan in Van Buren AR has responded to my email and phone calls. This is replacement for 2 Duromax 18HPE engines that died in less than 50 hours run time. Keep these engines indoors or cover air cleaner. Design of air cleaner lets rain in carburetor. A thin rubber washer on a threaded rod is not water proof. Second pull started engine. More after I get some hours on this engine... Edit 2022: I only use 1 of 2 engines. It starts easy by pull or starter motor. Usually gas valve is shut wnen work is done. After engine dies, key switch is set off & key removed. Oil is changed after < 10 hours use. Oil consumption is 0. No problems.

Great motor. Easy to crank. Runs smooth. Plenty of power. Price excellent. One problem: I ordered model LF168F-2BRQ, but I received model LF168F-2BR (The "Q" was missing.) This meant that the diameter of the output shaft of the motor I received was 20mm and not the 3/4 diameter of the Q model. I wanted to put a pulley on the output shaft, but I couldn't find a pulley with a 20mm bore, even on the internet. I wound up buying a pulley with a 3/4 bore and then boring it to 20mm, using a 20mm drill bit that I special ordered. Even with this significant complication, I am still completely satisfied with this motor. The centrifugal wet clutch works perfectly. By the way, even though this engine is made to be a go-kart motor, I am not using it for that purpose. I am using it to power a seed auger. I start and stop the auger by varying the throttle by using a 12V linear actuator controlled by a wireless remote.

Product description changed once item moved to cart. Initial description is a small engine without gear reduction. The engine that shipped had a 6:1 gear reduction and does not work with my application. Not able to return and now I have a 4hp paper weight. Very disappointed.

The engine is awesome, but what makes it even more awesome is that I recieved the electric start version in error, I ordered the 6.5MHP Recoil start with a 3/4" shaft but it came with electric start by accident, YMMV though, seriously, I saw one guy get a 13HP instead of a 4 which is a win in most cases but if you need the exact engine you ordered it may be a loss. Just because I got a better engine than what I ordered doesn't mean you will though, you may get the same, better, or worse engine than what you ordered though, I strapped mine on a go kart and it runs real nice, I can start it with out evem having to get up. Purchase if you're a little ballsy and are willing to take chances.

still the wrong shaft. after waiting several weeks for what i hoped would be the correct engine, this one arrived 20mm. great. like an idiot i decided it was better to bore the sprocket than return the engine for what would likely be another metric mechanical abortion. Not a difficult repair, but the removed material from the inside of the bore results in a very shallow keyway and set screw which makes retaining the key problematic. The carbide i used didn't leave the keyway clean so a small file is required the clean it up. I've owned many clone engines and found them to be nearly bulletproof. This one made it about 15 minutes into the break-in and developed an alarming knock from deep in the crankcase. I expected it die quickly and violently but it refuses to give up. I suspect the oil dipper has broken off the rod and is bouncing around. Being consistently idiotic i think i'll keep the miserable little thing, mostly because i've got internals on hand and the gasket set is far cheaper than the shipping back to china. The reduction box is great. A huge upgrade over centrifugal clutches or cvt's.

I got this motor to replace a dead Honda GC 190 motor on my Northern Tool pressure washer. Much higher quality than the Honda GC series. I would say more on par with the Honda GX series at about 1/4 the price. One thing i noticed is that the mounting bolts for the pressure washer pump are a different thread pattern on this motor than the honda. I looked everywhere online (even asked on Amazon) and could not find the specs for the bolts. Well. after some trial and error I determined that they are M8 1.25 bolts. Pictured is what I ordered from Amazon. After assembly I now have about 1 hour of run time on the motor. Other than the yellow on/off switch the motor is very nice quality, well made with good quality parts. Heck the carburetor is even marked made in Japan. I normally do not even use the on off switch because when I shut it down I shut off the gas and run the carb dry. I was surprised to see that this motor is designed to be used with a remote throttle cable or throttle lever on the motor. Very happy so far.
