Q: Will this work with a new macbook pro m1?

The dual USB-C connectors are spread out a tad too far apart to fit in the two USB-C ports on an M1 Macbook, so the first think you'd have to do is get small USB-C extension cables. Even then, those cables would have to be ranked for 100W power delivery or else you'll have power (and maybe data) issues.

Q: Does it come with the cords shown?

Yes. Mine came with everything shown on the web page.

Q: Does this dock charge a dell precision 5540? i am incredibly surprised why the wd19 model doesn't do it.

I am not familiar with the Precision 5540, but if the 5540 has a Thunderbolt bolt it should charge. It charges my Dell Latitude 7320 just fine.
