Jazzkid Great little pieces that start very simple and built up progressively. Some of the pieces repeat with extra layers of rhythm, chords, and melody/bass notes---thus exemplifying how to improvise on the basis of simple written material. Encouraging the student to name the pieces, as well as to draw a related picture or tell a story, is not only a cute idea, but it also promotes deeper understanding and exploration of the musical ideas.
