PowerScore GRE Verbal Reasoning Bible: A Comprehensive System for Attacking Gre Verbal Reasoning Questions!

This is my very first amazon review, and I want to describe how impactful this book is.This GRE book is the best in the market. It is surprisingly even better than Manhattan Prep, which I also consider top notch. Its main selling point though are its strategies and tips which better than what most advanced instructors can provide. This book guides you through questions are developed, and what you can do to prepare for them. While, this book does provide a sufficient amount of exercises you would ideally want to go onto their website for more practice or buy another prep book. I wish I had found this book before, it would have saved me a lot of time and money!

I like the material so far, it is user friendly and what I expected based on severs recommendations from friends who have taken the GRE.

Exactly what I needed

I am studying for the GRE and wanted to understand some of the strategy. This book is so helpful. Not only is the appendix filled with about 700 common vocabulary words, but also the tips and tricks change the game. This is also an easy to read guide. The language makes sense and is straight to the point. I do not dread having to study with this book. It makes it much more enjoyable.

I am writing this review to speak about how well the author put this bible together for those who are preparing for the GRE. This prep book gives a very lucid (clear) understanding on how to approach all three of the categories that make up the Verbal Section of the GRE. There is a huge amount of vocab for you to study at the end of the book (700 words used frequently on the test) and it goes in-depth with the different types of questions (each category), passages(for Reading Comprehension), and sentence types (for SE & TC) that you will encounter on the test. There are also practice questions through out the book designed for you to practice each of the different types of questions.For myself, I took the GRE once before obtaining this book a month before taking the GRE a second time. I studied the entire book once and in a month's study I earned a score that was a three point improvement from the previous test (14 percentile increase)! Now this is only after studying from a month. So for those who are better stewards of their time and actually give themselves more breathing room by studying 2-4 months in advance before their test, I believe that your score may improve even more than my own. I would highly recommend adding this book studying preparations. Using this and the original ETS verbal prep will help you for this section of the test. To the Author, thank you for making this book. It truly did wonders and was helpful in improving my vocabulary for this test and preparation for Grad School. I wish future students the best in their endeavors to conquer this test.

A well structured book to understand GRE Verbal section. Nicely explained concepts but short on practice problems. But a must buy for concepts.
