GreenWaterFarm Triops Red Longicaudatus Eggs for Hatching and Culture Suitable to be Pet and Science Project (Pure 200 Eggs)

The eggs had a crazy high hatch rate, I hatched them out in 3 tiny ball jars and had a bunch of nauplii in each jar. They all hatched quickly and they were very plentiful. I made a mistake in not separating them early however, as they all cannibalized each other until only one remained, the beautiful little fella pictured. Triops tend to do that. Next generation I hatch, I will definitely separate them earlier, until they’re mature enough to live together. These are great eggs and I recommend em if you want to grow Triops that are a little more uncommon than the usual “normal” longicaudatus. Also I wish Greenwater Farms offered Triops cancriformis eggs!

I did these in 3 separate batches giving well over the date they were supposed to hatch, none did. I used my microscope and everything and there was no movement from day 9-20, it said they hatch in about 10 days. They are still in the tank it's been ages and still nothing. Very disappointed.

Super pleased with this purchase. Definitely the correct or more amount of eggs.I really like I can try to hatch the amount of eggs I want.No, not all of the ones I put in hatched, but when I dry out the sand those eggs will most likely hatch next time.I got quite a few and they are getting big fast! Always hungry.Most are orange and one is grey?Not sure if this will help, but during hatching I kept it at room temp and used a "UV light for plants" at all time till they hatched. When using a regular lamp it did not work well for me.

I had maybe 3 eggs hatch and they did not live long, followed directions exactly!

Maybe 50 eggs, no hatchlings. 5 boxes… they are farmed, weak genetics.

Well, the little critters hatched quite fast with the proper conditions, but careful daily count of the eggs after a month suggests around a 10% hatch rate... which is rock bottom for Triops (60% Max) and my setup is scientifically perfect for them. The box contains nothing but eggs, so any detritus, algae, or small aquatic critters that baby Triops need to eat are non-existent without going to more extreme measures such as gathering local pond water. Buy a kit unless you have all the necessary things for prime hatching conditions. But hey, at least they are actually eggs and not just dust, right?

I like these. I set up a little critter carrier with sand on the bottom, filled it the distilled water, added a couple of moss balls and then the eggs. Eggs began to hatch the next day - I fed them one pellet of shrimp food. 4 days later the tank is teeming with triops and now feed them a pellet twice a day. I keep the tank in my office that gets diffused sunlight. One thing to remember is when they first hatch, they stay pretty much in the water column and look like cyclops. They will eventually merge to the bottom. Also, the eggs float so the next day after putting them in water, you may see a floating island of eggs. I just used a toothpick and swirled them. They will sink.

The media could not be loaded. Did not expect to see one of these guys less than 10 hours after setting them up. I only put maybe fifteen eggs in to test so I'm delightfully surprised. I know a lot of people complain they don't live long but i will stick to the instructions and cross my fingers. So far I'm pleased.
