A lot of people complain that there is not enough capsule variety available for the Lavazza BLUE system. On one hand this is true, but it's also true that the Lavazza varieties that are available are incredibly good. The Lavazza BLUE capsules make some amazing espresso (for a capsule). That said, I saw these Bristot BLUE compatible capsules and I immediately placed an order. Bristot is a great Italian espresso brand and I was excited to be able to get Bristot capsules for my Lavazza BLUE machine. At 60¢ each these are not cheap but not out of line for what you are getting. Bristot puts really high quality coffee inside these. My capsules had a great "best before date" as well, 30 Sep 2022. My own tasting notes: It formed a nice thick crema that lingered. This 100% Arabica blend has a sweet and enticing aroma, and from the first sip no bitterness at all. I taste a little fruit and cocoa. Bristot describes spicy notes but I don’t get spicy. I didn't find it overly acidic as I do some Arabica. I pulled a lungo from this capsule and it still had a lot of body, in fact it was a little chewy which I like. There were absolutely no grounds left in the cup so it's all good there. The flavor is very different from any other Lavazza BLUE capsule I've had and that's exactly what I had hoped for, something different. The flavor is wonderful. This is my new favorite capsule for my Lavazza BLUE espresso machine. I will definitely buy these again, hopefully on sale. * Update 6/23/2021: In my previous update (now deleted) I took a star for the coffee being too acidic, but I now realize I was trying to get too much out of this 8.5g capsule. I was over-extracting, my mistake. This is a really great capsule after all, but don't try to extend it to make a lungo or it will over-extract and not taste so good. If you stick to pulling a single shot you'll probably end up agreeing with me that this is indeed a great capsule. Smooth, rich, complex and delicious. Update: 12/22/2024 Tried these again, mainly because they were on sale. Love them, they're one of my favorite "BLUE" capsules. If you have a BLUE/Expert machine and catch them on sale, they're worth it.

I purchased these Bristot capsules for my new Lavazza machine because of the fine reviews. I enjoy an Americano that's smooth, not too acidic, but robust. I start by running 8 oz. of hot water followed by a double shot. Nice crema on top, full flavor below. A simple double espresso is also very good, smooth and robust. Using the frother to make a Cappuccino topped with a double shot was also very good. I use the capsules as directed and don't try to make a Lungo with a double shot capsule. I find adding hot water to the cup first, followed by the double on top, creates a cup with a perfect crema on top, and any desired strengths desired. The Bristot capsules with the Lavazza machine is simple, easy to clean, and makes a consistently fine espresso drink of choice.I wish my local barista was a consistently good.

Wrong product I have purchased in the last 3 years. The plastic for the coffee to pour through is too thick. So no coffee, no satisfaction.
