The company that makes it is out of Seattle. They have a lot of made in the U.S.A. Products, but I don't think this is one of them...

The only mark on this piece that I could find is the "Truetap" stamp, no mark as to where it is made.

I am new to wine, and have no idea how to use this.  My way seems hard.  Can anyone explain, or is there a video somewhere that I can watch?

First off, there is a little tiny knife on the outside which you use to cut the foil wrap around the top neck of the bottle to help you take the wrap (foil) off the bottle top.  Once you have the wrap (foil) off, make sure to close the knife piece back in place.  Then open the wine key by taking the notched metal arm piece and out stretch it to the side and then take the black corkscrew and open that to the center to make a "T" shape and use the colored handle piece and notched metal arm piece as your corkscrew handle.  You then place the tip of the black corkscrew into the top center of the wine cork.  And using your "T handle" twist the screw down into the cork several times.  Once you drill the corkscrew into the cork, that notched metal arm is what you use to anchor the corkscrew and pull out the cork. It acts as a fulcrum - as you pull up on the handle, you also exert force down on the notched metal arm, which allows you to draw the cork out of the bottle.  Then you pour and enjoy!

how long is the screw?  I had my corkscrew confiscated at Vienna because the screw was 6.2 centimeters  in length and the EU permits a max of only 6.0

Hi James - I measured the worm and it is 2 3/8 inches equaling 6.0325 cm - that's measuring from the hinge to the tip.  If you measure only the curly part, it is 2" equaling 5.08 cm.  I have had it pulled out of my purse every time I go through TSA, but now I just put it in a bowl, still in the original case and they don't have to do anything but look at it.  Hope this helps.
