I bought a S & W 642 and it had the black rubber grips....Nice.....but nothing like these grips from Altamont....They fit perfectly and really change the appearance of the pistol to a class act....The wood grips are the way to go....Bought a Cardini holster to hold it......Priceless.....

If you like wood this grip is a must. Better than the rubber grip that was originally there.

I put these grips on a s&w 38 special and was realy impressed with the workmanship of the grips.They realy perked up my gun.

Look at the finger grooves. I should have been more observant. You will only get TWO fingers around this grip. The grips that came on the gun (S and W 63) are small, but I can get 3.5 of my fingers on the stock grip. The 4 stars are for the quality and craftsmanship. However, for practical purposes, you may as well not have any grip at all. Compared to this grip, the stock rubber grips are a dream.

I decided to upgrade my stock rubber grips to these wooden grips. At first I thought I was going to have to shave some wood down but after finagling with it for a second, the grips fit perfect without having to gunsmith anything. It looks nicer in person. All you need to install them is a small flat head screwdriver. Don’t over tighten them or you might crack the wood. Just tighten them snug. I like them a lot. I might buy another set for my other revolver.

I like these grips on my revolver. Nice classic look, fantastic on a chromed revolver. I got the walnut colored ones. The revolver looks classy and nice.

The grip is an awesome design. The checkering really gives the grips a + over rubber grips when you have sweaty hands. My only complaint is the grips are very dark than rich red. More like a maroon. I would give a 5 star but since the product image is slightly inaccurate I gave it a 4 star. Still recommend!

Ergonomic fit to my hand. Checkering has enough grip without being abrasive. Right size for pocket carry. Grip screw is rusting heavily so apply some oil to prevent this. But I wouldn't expect anything less in florida's humidity.
