What is the inside of the lid made of?

Hello! The inner lid of Panda is coated aluminium – we have put a special inert coating on the inner lid to stop oxidisation and discolouration and it also seals it completely. The inner lid does not come into contact with any food and it is completely safe. Most rice cookers have some form of aluminium inner lid, but only our products have the special seal on it.

Are there directions for cooking oatmeal and if so, how long will the oatmeal stay warm?

Hello! We have put a recipe in the instruction manual for cooking oatmeal. You can set the timer for it to be ready in the morning when you wake up and it can stay on keep warm until you are ready to eat it. Panda has a 24 hours keep warm, but we wouldn't recommend keeping porridge warm for that long as it will completely dry out.

How long, in minutes does it take to cook 3 cups rice?

Hello! We have given some approximate cooking times in the manual, these can only be approximate because we have a specially staged cooking cycle which the fuzzy logic assesses as the cooking cycle progresses depending on factors like how much rice and water are inside the inner bowl, ambient temperate, how the rice absorbs water etc. Usually it's around 35-40 minutes for white rice and 60 minutes for brown rice. Fast cook is around 25-29 minutes.

Panda doesn't just boil the rice, it carefully stages the cooking with steaming, braising, boiling parts of the cycle to ensure that each batch of rice cooked is perfect, preserving taste, texture and nutrients.

Is it nonstick for cooking rice?

Hello! Panda has a ceramic coated inner bowl which is BPA-free, PFOA-free and PTFE-free. It is a durable and healthy non-stick coating. Nothing sticks to the inner bowl and you need to be sure to follow the cleaning instructions in the user manual
