There are no care instructions. You could probably put food straight on it but I would varnish it first if it was me. I've been using them for crafts rather than food.

What is the depth of the large log and is it suitable to drill to make a table?

It’s too light to make a table,more for a centre piece,cake base etc. It’s about and inch and a half depth.
