It can be shortened but requires a little patience. I shortened mine by cutting the band. I then heated and melted the cut end. I then carefully removed the rubber end cap off the cut piece of band and 5 minute epoxied it back on. We’ll worth it as the pack is by far the best pack on the market. Extremely safe and secure.
