How transparent/breathable is this cloth? Too heavy for a media cabinet door?

Very breathable but not transparent. We use it on a media cabinet door to hide a cable/dvr box and it works great.

Is the fabric to think for dml panel speaker? will it muffle the sound?

The fabric is not too thick. dml panel? Will it muffle the sound, no in general speaker grill fabric is neutral to sound, as long as the fabric is mounted taut on a hollow frame.
