Stuck in the middle of no where with no gimbal. USELESS without permission. Mandatory app and regBought it as a backup gimbal. I dropped my primary whipped out my backup and its a paperweight. where I was there was no "internet" at all. period. not only does this require an app (why?) but it requires you to register with an account and "activate" the device (oh that's why it needs an app)This is a piece of hardware that has no business REQUIRING an app to even turn it on. that is nonsense in the extreme. have an app for added functionality? sure. but making it MANDATORY to even turn the unit on?I could never recommend such a device with such a ludicrous restriction.Once I returned to civilization I was able to download the (rather large) app and it did "activate" without issue after it forced me to divulge my information to them by creating an account.even with the app. while it functions very well side to side up and down drifted and was annoying.I would align the horizon where I wanted it and over time it would drift (usually shifting up) and I would have to adjust the neutral position I wanted again.its otherwise an adequate gimbal and I like how it folds and "locks" into a secure configuration. that should make it far more survivable in luggage car etc.. over time. That needs to be fixedAlso what gives with not including a case? you went from EXCELLENT compact lightweight folding design to hey no need for a case ehh? scratch that noise. make a case. even if its an add on you buy separately that's ok as the price is quite competitive. but a case (proper fitted case) is mandatory for something like this.I am coming off a bit negative but that mandatory app and registration just to turn it on is giving me real I don't like you vibes. its what turned me off DJI. I don't like asking "permission" of the company to use a product that is my property that I paid for. That just rubs me very very wrong.Besides that its really not a bad product in fact it has a lot of features that make it a very good product. but 3 things need to be fixed before I could even think of suggesting this to anyone.NO APP to activate and use the hardware. it is only needed because you decided it was needed not because the hardware needs it.Fixed the Horizon neutral drift. maybe there is a way to fix this and I just got agitated enough with it to not bother looking so this might be an easy fixCASE proper tough and fitted is mandatory. it can be an extra I am fine paying separate for things like that in some cases but products like this NEED a proper case for protection or it won't make it to our next shoot.

After hours of researching and bouncing back and forth between the best gimbals out there in the market, this and the DJI, I chose the Hohem iSteady x2. This is a mobile phone gimbal which is compatible with almost all the phones and will bring much smoother footage rather than filming handheld. This can also be controlled using the included remote. There are many features within the app that make it so smooth for shooting videos, that turn out to be like professional videos out there. Out of the many features it offers, it allows you to toggle between the pan and tilt follow, pan follow, all lock and POV modes, which essentially controls the flow of your gimbal.The Battery is about 2800 mAh and can stay on for up to 9 hours. I can attest that on a full charge, I played around with this for about more that 4 hours at a stretch and the battery indicator was just down by one dot, indicating that there was still half of the juice left out. You can also use this as an alternative power back to charge your phone in case of an emergency. I love that it has the face and object tracking capability within the app, and I must say it is pretty accurate. Though I wish I could use this feature on other apps like facetime or recording my live stories on Instagram, unfortunately it does not work outside of the app. You can still use your native camera app and utilize all the options that this gimbal offers like the zoom in and zoom out, capture pictures and videos with the buttons and much more.Please note that the first thing you do as soon as you get it is to scan the QR code and install the app. Without the App, it is not going to work! So please ensure you make yourself familiar with this before you pack it for your shoot. Overall, this is one of the best ones out there and for the price this is a must have.

It is very easy to set up and get working. The most important thing to remember is to take off all the locks from the motors (and put them back on when not in use). These are important and do a good job protecting the motors.The built in battery lasts for a good while and doesn't take long to fully charge. It charges via USB-C and a cable is included in the box. You can also charge it from a power bank.The gimbal feels very nice in the hands and isn't too heavy to hold even for an extended period of time. They used what feels like a higher quality plastic and I love the black/grey color. This is a perfect size if you ask me and it's very easy to take with you on the go.It does a great job stabilizing the footage when walking or running. I attached a video of the gimbal in action. The motors are strong enough to even hold and stabilize my S21 Ultra smartphone. The clamps open enough to have it fit even with the case still on.The app is nicely made and works just fine on my android phone. There are a lot of different features and settings that can be changed/used in the app to help you make your best videos - this is easy to use and figure out. You don't have to use the app (after you set it up for the first time) if you don't want to, just be sure to read the instructions on the what the different buttons on the gimbal do.All things considered, I really love this smartphone gimbal and I am very impressed they packed this much build quality into a relatively cheap price. If you do a lot of filming with your smartphone or are just in the market for a smartphone gimbal, I would highly recommend having this one!

Hohem customer service told me twice this Gimbal is compatible with Samsung S21. Only to find out when purchased it is not. Even their own website says its not compatible. Try to contact them . No reply.

Purchased to try with Samsung S21 Ultra, so far appears to work ok. Yet to give it a full workout.

Klein und handlich, super verarbeitet. Größer als ein S20 Ultra sollte das Handy aber nicht sein, da das Handy sonst dem Gimbal nur im Wege ist. Die App ist super aufgeräumt und leicht verständlich. Installation und Einrichtung innerhalb von 5 Minuten erledigt. Einige Moves sind mit diesem Gimbal nicht möglich, dieses richtet sich eher an User welche Selfies und einfache Videos machen möchten. Gesicht & Objekttracking funktioniert erstaunlich gut. Akku hält locker über 1 Tag (je nach Nutzung). Dank der "Moment" Funktion in der App kann man hier auch mal was neues versuchen. Für den Hobby - Filmer oder für Urlaubsvideos mehr als ausreichend. Was super ist, mit einem Knopfdruck kann das Handy entweder Horizontal oder Vertikal ausgerichtet werden. Wir finden den Gimbal für den Preis supi :-)

Dopo aver visto uno stabilizzatore gimbal che aveva un mio amico, mi sono interessato ed informato per acquistarne uno.Mi è sembrato uno strumento affascinante ed utile per molte attività che svolgo.La mia scelta è ricaduta su questo specifico modello in quanto dopo aver visto molte videorecensioni mi è sembrato quello più adatto a me. In particolare, mi piace che lo stabilizzatore Hohem è leggero e compatto (è ripiegabile ed occupa davvero poco spazio).Nei video che ho guardato ho avuto modo di scoprire anche l’app che viene utilizzata per il funzionamento di questo gimbal e mi è sembrata semplice ed intuitiva nonché mi ha attratto per la presenza della modalità professionale con possibilità di regolare tempo di esposizione-shutter-iso-bilanciamento del bianco).Nell’app possono essere regolate molte impostazioni del gimbal come, ad esempio, la modalità di lavoro o la risoluzione o, ancora, la velocità di reazione del joystick.Inoltre, sull’app il produttore ha caricato dei video tutorial che trovo molto utili per imparare ad utilizzare al meglio lo stabilizzatore gimbal.Tra le funzionalità più interessanti, a mio avviso, vi sono l’Active tracking e la modalità Momenti. Attivando la prima delle due, il gimbal si sposterà automaticamente ed autonomamente seguendo il movimento della persona o dell’oggetto che sono stati selezionati.La seconda, invece, consente di applicare degli effetti preimpostati alla registrazione di un video. Al momento vi sono 5 effetti, ma speriamo ne siano aggiunti altri con successivi aggiornamenti.L’impugnatura del gimbal è comoda e lo stabilizzatore non scivola dalle mani. Sull’impugnatura troviamo l’ingresso del cavo per la ricarica type-c per ricaricare la batteria da 2.000 mAh e poco più sotto il tasto RESET (per riportare il gimbal alle impostazioni di fabbrica. Nella parte centrale in basso a dx il tasto di accensione e spegnimento (con pressione prolungata) ed al tempo stesso per la rotazione automatica del telefono di 90° attraverso rapida pressione. Più a sx il tasto per scattare foto o avviare i video che con 2 pressioni rapide consente anche di passare rapidamente da una all’altra modalità. Sopra c’è il joystick, che consente di ruotare il gimbal nella direzione che si preferisce (faccio notare che nelle impostazioni è possibile invertire il senso di rotazione del joystick, così da poter utilizzare quello che è più comodo). Ancora a sx tasto per regolare lo zoom.Vi sono anche delle combinazioni di tasti molto comode (consiglio di leggere le istruzioni a proposito).Molto comodo il treppiedi (che occupa anche poco spazio una volta chiuso) per poter poggiare lo stabilizzatore sulle superfici. Io, ogni tanto, lo collego anche ad un’asta per selfie che avevo acquistato in passato e che è risultata perfettamente compatibile.In conclusione, mi reputo molto soddisfatto dell’acquisto (finalmente sono riuscito a togliermi questo sfizio) e sono sicuro che lo utilizzerò molto (speriamo tornerà il tempo delle vacanze, stay safe!).
