Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Organic Whole Bean Medium Roast, Holler Mountain 12 Oz

Machine - Delonghi La Specialista Arte EvoGrind Size - 4WDT + 30lb Calibrated Tamper18g IN35g OUTThe bag smells delicious. Opening the bag, it is an instant hit of caramel notes - almost overpowering - but in the enticing way. Roast color is very bright with a decent amount of crema - smooth and silky! I am not entirely sure how much caffeine is in it, but I would assume for a double shot, it's anywhere between 120mg to 160mg of caffeine for a standard medium roast. On the initial sip, a good amount of caramel in the nose note, smooth initial hit with a hint of caramel (unfortunately couldn't taste the hazelnut or citrus), with a slightly bitter finish. I'm starting to learn that almost all of the beans I've tried has a slightly bitter finish, which seems pretty standard, but I don't really know any better - YET!I have mixed this with Oatly Oatmilk Barista edition, Fairlife Whole Milk, and Califia Oatmilk Barista edition, and I love the combo with all of these milks.Great buy. I will buy it again in the future.

Great coffee. Flavorful yet smooth and no bitter aftertaste. Little pricey but I’d say worth it!

1. Flavor Profile:The flavor profile of Holler Mountain is truly remarkable. Each cup offers a delightful symphony of tastes, with prominent notes of citrus zest, caramel, and hazelnut. The citrus zest provides a refreshing, bright undertone, perfectly balanced by the rich sweetness of caramel and the nutty warmth of hazelnut. This complex yet harmonious blend makes every sip a new discovery, pleasing to both the palate and the senses.2. Freshness and Aroma:From the moment I opened the bag, the rich, inviting aroma of freshly roasted coffee filled the air. The beans were perfectly roasted, exuding a freshness that is often hard to come by. Grinding the beans at home amplified this wonderful aroma, making the brewing process an enjoyable ritual. The enticing scent alone was enough to wake up my senses even before the first sip.3. Quality and Sourcing:Stumptown Coffee Roasters is known for its commitment to quality and sustainable sourcing, and the Holler Mountain blend is no exception. These organic whole beans are sourced from some of the best coffee-growing regions, ensuring not only excellent flavor but also ethical and environmentally friendly practices. Knowing that I am supporting a company dedicated to sustainable and fair trade practices enhances my coffee-drinking experience.4. Medium Roast Perfection:The medium roast of Holler Mountain is expertly done, striking the perfect balance between light and dark. It brings out the natural flavors of the beans without overpowering them, resulting in a smooth and well-rounded cup of coffee. Whether brewed as a pour-over, French press, or espresso, this roast level provides consistent quality and flavor.5. Versatility:One of the things I appreciate most about Holler Mountain is its versatility. It tastes fantastic no matter how I prepare it. For a bright and crisp morning coffee, I use a pour-over method that highlights the citrus notes. For a richer, more indulgent afternoon pick-me-up, the French press method brings out the caramel and hazelnut undertones beautifully. This adaptability makes it a great all-around coffee for any time of day.6. Packaging:The packaging of the Holler Mountain blend is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The 12-ounce bag is resealable, which helps maintain the freshness of the beans over time. The design is sleek and modern, reflecting the quality and care that goes into every bag of Stumptown coffee. Conclusion:Stumptown Coffee Roasters' Medium Roast Organic Whole Bean Coffee - Holler Mountain is a standout product that delivers on all fronts: flavor, aroma, quality, and versatility. The complex flavor notes of citrus zest, caramel, and hazelnut create a delightful and memorable coffee experience. Coupled with the company’s commitment to sustainable practices, this coffee is a true winner. I highly recommend Holler Mountain to any coffee lover looking for a premium, ethically sourced coffee that delivers exceptional taste with every cup.

It’s pretty good. Not my favorite though. I probably won’t repurchase. The flavor is a little too citrusy for me.

After finishing this bag of Stumptown Holler Mountain, I can confidently say this coffee completely won me over. I had been hesitant to buy it for a long time because I already had too many coffee beans at home, but now I truly regret not trying it sooner. What impressed me most is that it needs absolutely no sugar. The flavor has a natural, subtle sweetness that comes through beautifully on its own. You can clearly taste gentle notes of citrus zest and caramel, with a soft nutty finish that reminds me of hazelnut. Everything is well balanced, smooth, clean, and never bitter. The aroma is wonderful from the moment the beans are ground. Brewing it fills the kitchen with a warm, inviting scent, and the flavor carries through just as nicely in the cup. It’s easy to drink, refined, and satisfying whether enjoyed black or as part of a simple milk-based drink. This medium roast feels very approachable but still interesting, making it great for daily drinking without being boring. It’s one of those coffees you look forward to in the morning and don’t feel the need to “fix” with sweeteners or additives.Overall, this coffee has officially become my new favorite. The quality, flavor clarity, and natural sweetness really stand out. If you’ve been on the fence like I was, don’t wait, I highly recommend it and will absolutely be buying it again.

Bought on 6/23 for a prime day deal, received the next day; beans were roasted on 5/2.Beans themselves taste fine for a couple of days, but since it's so long after roast date, it lost flavor and balance very quickly. Probably will buy the beans again but not on amazon.

This coffee is absolutely amazing! The roast is so smooth and the beans were super easy to grind. I felt like a new person after my first cup of coffee, the caffeine definitely was there and the perfect amount.

I don't know what they did to this coffee but, it's disgusting to say the least! The notes are confusing! So, it said in the advertisement (before purchasing) that it has caramel hints of flavor, but on the bag it says fruity hints. It was obvious when I opened the bag of beans that it had what appeared to me to be a stale stintch of fruit. The beans looked like a pumpkin color mixed with old beans. After grinding these beans and placing them in an air tight container, my container smelt like old fruit! The taste is a hint of bitter, a hint of some kind of fruit, and no caramel flavor. Yeah, not worth the money I spent for 2 bags! And in all honesty, I usually buy Kirkland brand coffee at Costco which you could tell is Top quality coffee right out of the bag! I couldn't make it to Costco this time and now wished I hadn't wasted money! But, now I know to steer clear of this brand of coffee..
