Undercover: One of These Things is Almost Like The Others

A beautiful and subtle book that helps kids identify like objects without sacrificing design. The drawings are incredible and very creative. If you like books that are as elegant as they are fun for kids (like Blexbolex or Bruno Munari's books), then you'll love this one.

Book is intended to show one image on a page that is different from the others. But there is no list of answers. Some of the sets are hard enough that an educated adult can't figure them out. There is no legend or list of answers that explains. So you end up not really knowing what is the right answer with no way to find out. VERY disappointing. Otherwise would be five stars.

My almost-two year old loves this book. This is a very simply styled book, with no words. Each page has an array of images, where one isn't the same as the others - just like the cover shows. The differences get progressively harder as the book goes on.It's a great book for interacting with my son and discussing things; he calls it the "turtle-hat book" and likes to name all the things in it, and practice the names of objects with it. For example, he likes to find the page of sports equipment and practice "tennis ball", "basket ball", "football", etc. We've tried other books with pictures of items for him, and they didn't appeal as much to him.

Love the idea of this. Clever and unusual and a fun different way to share a book with a child. It would have been amazing if the end pages could have included an answer key - written why each picture didn't match so a school aged child could check themselves.

Great for stimulating conversation, vocabulary building, close looking, description and justification. Fun and not so easy as it looks.
