Review: Nice Instrument - A little of my musical background. I learned to play sax in middle band but became an organist, pianist, and keyboardist (my primary instruments). I am self-taught on all the keyboards and am not a professional musician (although I do play for my church). I also used to own a Casio Digital Horn back in the day. I've been playing the Aerophone Mini for about a week. It was purchased in April for my birthday in July. Other than testing it when it arrived, it was not played until my birthday. The fingering is enough like the sax that it came back quickly. I was easily able to play "Amazing Grace" when I tested in in April. Pros: - Portable and battery operated - Easy (for me) to play. It helps to know the basics of reading music, etc. - Built-in speaker for playing anywhere - Built-in voices sound good when played through (even cheap) headphones or external speakers - App for helping learn and 50 additional voices - App voices sound great through external speakers or headphones - Latency of voices not in issue with my iPhone Cons: - Small built-in speaker resulting in built-in voices not sounding very good or having much volume without external speakers or headphones - Few songs (11) in the app (This may be fixed if the app is updated.) and they tend to advance somewhat rapidly in difficulty from one to the next - Even through external speakers the built-in sounds not quite as good as those in the app - Latency of voices is an issue with my Kindle Fire rendering the app useless for playing the additional voices of the app Even though there is a issue with latency of the voices in the app on the Kindle, if you use the built-in sounds with learning the songs in the app, the app works fine with the Kindle. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase. At this point in my life, I don't plan on becoming a professional or semi-professional horn player. This instrument allows me to enjoy another facet of my hobby (music). I hope this review helps others. Enjoy making music on this or any other instrument. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you use this with the garritan sound libraries?  i already own these.**
A: They say that it has MIDI out, via Bluetooth, so if the Garritan sounds can be triggered by MIDI is should work. You will need to be able to receive the MIDI via Bluetooth though.

**Q: Has anybody trying to record into Ableton Live using this device?**
A: Not Ableton but it should work just fine. I recorded into Reaper and Reason

**Q: Does this instrument support any Chinese Instrument sounds or fingering?**
A: There are several Asian instruments in the app that the AE-01 connects to. I haven't messed with it but there is a way to do custom key bindings (I think this also requires the app though). The default is a modified recorder fingering system.

**Q: Will this help to learn how to play the recorder or any ocarina instruments?**
A: It's really the other way around -- people who can play the recorder can use this instrument to take their range of sounds to another level. 

PS:  A recorder virtuoso would surely disagree with what I just said!   A high quality recorder has a quality of sound the Aerophone does not.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Excelente instrumento novedoso, llegó usado

Lo estuve buscando pero es escaso en el mercado mexicano, ni hablar de las versiones más completas, así que comprarlo aquí fue la opción más viable, no incluye un estuche ni bolsa de viaje así que eso es algo que tomar en cuenta, ya que lo mejor es tratarlo con cuidado, no es frágil ni los materiales se sienten corrientes, al contrario se siente de gran calidad, pero siempre por ser un electrónico lo mejor es poderlo tener en estuche, excelente opción para principiantes que quieren aprender un instrumento y los que sabes tocar ya un instrumento de viento, encontrarán maneras creativas de utilizarlo y jugar con su versatilidad, no es un juguete, es un instrumento musical hecho y derecho, con la calidad de Roland que es totalmente una marca de instrumentos novedosos y profesionales, la aplicación gratuita es genial y te permite aprenderlo fácilmente, lo único negativo es que me llegó un instrumento del que puedo asumir estaba usado ya que la boquilla estaba gastada de dónde se muerde en embocadura de saxofón, lo noté porque reconozco ese uso en las boquillas, además la caja estaba maltratada como de los instrumento que usan en las tiendas de música para usar de prueba y muestra, eso es algo en lo que deben tener cuidado ya que aunque puede parecer algo normal entre instrumentos musicales( me refiero el probarlos) no debería ser algo normal en Amazon, ya que se supone que garantizan productos nuevos, y por la extrema necesidad en estos tiempos de pandemia de no compartir cosas personales como una boquilla, así que punto malo, en fin decidí no cambiarlo por lo difícil de conseguir en otros sitios y le puse un parche de boquilla para no seguir gastandola
