Hello, Ninja. Hello, Stage Fright! (I Can Read Level 2)

Adventure and fun for younger ones
My kid has asked me to read this book--and it's companion volume, "Goodbye Tooth"--to her multiple times every day since it arrived. I usually do, because the story and the art are imaginative and fun. So many kids books slowly drive a parent insane. So many kids books these days are full of art that is bad, or even purposefully ugly. Hello Ninja is so much better. In this one, Wesley has stage fright. Instead of being nervous, he, his friend Georgie, and Pretzel the cat become Ninjas who save a crowd of stone giants from the clutches of an evil wizard. Along the way, they learn that challenges are best shared with friends. One thing to note on reading level: While it's marked as a Level 2 book by the publisher, HarperCollins, in their "I Can Read!" series, it's notably more advanced than a Level 2 book in Random House's "Step into reading" series. Younger ones will be listening to you read this, before they can read it themselves.

Complicated story line and hard words
The story line was hard to follow and was not a first, level 2 reader book! The story line was about making mistakes and messing up and wizards. In my opinion, too mature and unnecessary for a level 2 reader.
