I removed my fire pit from the deck and the patio stones it was sitting on and found that the deck was a bit burned. I got this mat and it makes a huge difference! Without you cant even touch the patio stones but with it on I reached under and the patio stones were cool. (note the pic is without the mat under it so you can see what I mean).

I got this mat after melting my composite deck on a cold night with a firepit. Just opening up the package I was surprised at how heavy the mat was and how sturdy it appeared. It works well and although I'm not yet comfortable having a fire on my deck I can use the firepit all around my yard without worrying about damaging the ground. The size is also perfect for any standard size firepit. I will update the review after additional use.

I had no problem putting the pit together and the cover is a great addition. Have used it a few times and my grandson loves making s’mores on it!

Great product. We had a heat gun and tested it. Once directly under the fire pit which was about 900 degrees. Then under the matt which tempt at 78 degrees . Still testing it before we use it directly on our newly poured and color stamped patio
