Umm...Not my cup of English Tea
This was very different than what I was expecting from this author. It started out great but at about 60% I started feeling like someone else wrote the book. I thought the characters were never going to accept that they were attracted and do something about it. Maybe this was an attempt at slow burn but it was more aggravating than hot. Things never really heated up.Ashley started off as a great character and then he just became...whimpy? He wasn't inexperienced with women and he wanted to be respectful. I get being nervous and I get that he was raised differently but he could have at least acted like a confident person. He came off as if he didn't have a confident bone in his body. He was still funny and a great person; just not confident.Georgia was OK at best. As educated and goal oriented as she was, she was not very bright. I guess immature, sheltered, and naive was what the author was going for but she was more often silly and annoying. Especially the last few chapters. She pretty much ruined things for me. I kept expecting the light to go off in her head but it didn't happen and I can't say more without spoiling things.I didn't like the ending or whatever mess that last 10% or so was supposed to be. I was beginning to think that it was going to be a cliffhanger. As it was I wish Ashley had put his aristocratic foot down and make a choice for them but nope. These grown adults let their parents help decide what to do. 🙄There was nothing really wrong with the story. It was technically well written. There was some witty dialogue here and there and, as I said, it started out great. It just wasn't really my cup of tea. I was left disappointed. This author is still one of my favorites. Many others loved this book. All is well. Three stars from me but I will recommend it because I don't regret reading it. Give it a go. ✌🏻💟☯️

What kind of ending is THAT
For starters, I actually liked 95% of the book. It was good light hearted new adult with likable characters with good chemistry. And then boom the twist happens. From there the whole pace of the book gets awkward. The leads, Georgia and Ashley, basically just don’t deal with the twist. Finally, they kind of start to deal with it. And then the book just ends. Like in the middle of a scene just ends. No “click here and get more emailed” and no cliffhanger but don’t worry the next book is coming. Just ends. Honestly I’m not even sure if they’re HEA or still kind of in the midst of figuring it out. It. Just. Ends. I cannot tell you how annoying I find it that I invested all the time in these characters and in reading this book, and it just ends. Like she got bored writing. Or a few chapters got lost. Who knows. I cannot recommend because of this. Who wants to leave a book with such a let down? It’s not why I spend my rare down time reading books with HEAs!!! If she fixed the ending I would give it four stars.

Perfection!!!!!!!!
To say I am a fan of the Jock Hard series is an understatement. I’ve read Jock Row about 75 times (not exaggerating) and both Jock Row and Jock Rule about 25 times each. This series just does it for me. My excitement for Jock Royal was sky-high and it did not disappoint. It was everything….I finished reading it and went back to page 1 and read it completely again.Georgia and Ashley meet because of a dare that makes Georgia look like an *ss and leaves Ash with a slight dislike for her. Too bad they share a class and are stuck in a study group. With Georgia trying to redeem herself with Ash, they eventually move to being friends and then roommates (with an underlying attraction). What’s it gonna take for them to cross that line….maybe winning a trip for 2 to Las Vegas? What I loved….both Georgia and Ash are athletes. Georgia runs track and Ash plays rugby. Books with female athletes are my jam as a former college D1 athlete myself. I also liked the slow burn from friends to more. It literally just made me giddy reading it. They were just so sweet. This book is funny, steamy, emotional and a reference to Stirling & Scarlett literally had me screeching with joy. I love that these are sweet, steamy and light angst romances but this one did have a bit of drama with how their relationship ended up playing out where I was a bit worried with how it would go (don’t worry, it was sooooo good).Of course I recommend this book. It’s honestly perfection in my opinion and will be joining my constant re-read list.

Not my favorite
Books 1&2 of this series have a lot more to offer than this story. Two students from different places decide to be roommates but have crushes on each other. It took some time for me to see a connection between Ash and Georgia. Many times I couldn’t tell the difference between witty banter and insults due to the differences of language. Georgia had a southern accent sometimes and Ash had an English accent at times. It was confusing to read dialogue that didn’t mesh well. I couldn’t figure out what was meant as joking, flirting or insulting. It did bother me Ash referred to himself at British even though all the people I know from England call themselves English or say they are from the UK. While I think the idea for this story is cute I didn’t feel the flow of the plot or dialogue was executed well. I recommend Jock Row or Jock Rule to read from this series.

If in doubt, Google it!
I had to work hard to ignore the fact that the author didn’t really know an awful lot about British people and the vernacular. Ashley’s language was all over the place, with phrases being either used out of context or making no sense at all. His lack of knowledge of imperial measurements was also baffling. The gist of the story when I could ignore that was actually okay, but it’s just a shame that the author couldn’t be bothered to even google the basics. I feel that this was written for an American audience and not gave a somewhat blinkered and uneducated interpretation of one aspect of British culture. I did quite like this author, but the lack of attention to detail, and actually the shallow and blasé depiction of Ashley’s family and their responses have really put me off her work at least for the time being. It just a bit half-arsed and lazy.

I really loved this but....
I love Sara Ney's books, she is one of my favourite authors of all time (the Douchebag series is -chefs kiss-) and I would have given this 5 stars but as a British person I really wish someone British had read this before publishing.Ashley Dryden-Jones has some glaring errors:-He doesn't know distances in miles, only km,He has no idea what mac & cheese is (macaroni cheese is practically a national dish!),He doesn't know his height in feet and inches, only in metric but then describes himself as being 8" taller than Georgia who is described earlier in the book as 5'10". Trouble is he says he is 1.87m tall which is only 6'1" & a bit which is inconsistent with him being constantly referred to as so much bigger than other men & being 8" taller than Georgia. These (and other inconsistencies/anachronisms) make it difficult to read as a British reader which is such a shame as the premise of the book is great & if reedited would probably be in my top 20 books of all time. I hope the author does revise and reissue Jock Royal.

Just okay
This was an okay read. Had an okay storyline but I didn’t find this book as funny as previous stories by this author. Georgia was a nice character and both main characters had good chemistry. But I found the British parts slightly confusing, I couldn’t work out if Ashley was from south or north with his constant use of the word sh@te and other words he used had me confused. I get that he was from a well to do family but he’d been living in the states for a while and just seemed like he’d been living on another planet. I admit I wasn’t expecting great things from this book based on the blurb but I’ve read all the other books by this author and have enjoyed them.

Too many inaccuracies to overlook!
Aaaaw I’m so gutted- I loved this series so far but this book was just not great. Storyline and characters were great but honestly Ashley’s way of speaking is comical at best and cringey at worst! British people do NOT speak like that… at all!! It was so bad and really put me off… I had to force myself to continue reading! The overuse of the word sh*te was just ridiculous- honestly only 12 year olds use that word - we do not talk like that!! That seriously needs to be changed! There were other phrases as well that were just way out of context… ghastly??? It’s not Downton Abbey!! Another problem- we do not refer to our country as ‘Great Britain’, we don’t measure our height in m/cm, and we don’t measure distance in km!!! Just so many errors and inaccuracies that just took away from the story completely. The book has potential and I’ve loved the other books so much but this seriously needs to be re-written and honestly if you’re going to write a book with a British character then get someone from the U.K. to actually read it before you publish- they would have picked up on all of this! If this is re-edited and changed then it’ll make such a difference!!

Lordly feelings!
Georgia meets Ashley when her team mates have her into finding an ugly man and asking him out for a dare! When he calls her out knowing she's doing it as a dare, Georgia feels humiliated. When she ends up in the same study group as Ashley she wants to make amends. What starts as antagonism ends with Georgia becoming his roommate. There's something between them that calls to the other. When Georgia wind a trip to Las Vegas, she takes Ashley with her. What happens when they play truth or drink and their feelings come out? What happens when Georgia finds out Ashley is British gentry? What happens when they get drunk and marry? This was another great Sara Ney read. The chemistry between the couple is mesmerising. Can't wait for the next one in the series!
