Love these, on the third size now! The BEST sleeping solution!
LOVE these HALO SleepSack wearable blankets! We started using them when my son was three months old, as he decided he was done with swaddling. We got him a a micro-fleece and cotton version. It was winter, so mostly the micro-fleece (plus he was so tiny!). That was size small. Now, I just got our third size, the large, as my baby is a year old! And yes, we LOVE these. A couple of reasons: obviously, that he can safely wear a blanket. But also because it keeps a blanket on his toes! Also, the zipper starts at the top, so you zip it closed by pulling the zipper to the toe-area. My mom asked if we've woken up to poo-flinging yet: nope! Not with the SleepSack! He can't really get into his diaper, yet he can stand in his crib (though we don't like that!) and get around easily enough to turn over, stretch out, etc. These really do leave them mobile. For our second set, we also purchased the muslin cotton version. It is much lighter- think pillowy burp-cloth material, and thin. It was perfect for summer. Love, love, LOVE. And we'll be getting the next size up when it is time!Wash is super-easy: flip inside out, toss in with the rest of the laundry! I do recommend having two on hand, as you'll need to wash one from time-to-time (spit up, etc.). We use a set of thin pajamas underneath this, without socks in the summer (or when we use the thicker one) and with socks if we use the thinner material. These are great, a great gift (because sizing is pretty easy). Highly recommend.

This Zipper Designer Hates Babies.
Whoever made this zipper hates babies and hates moms of babies even more. I would blame it on the upside-down zipper style, but Burts Bees Baby also fashions the upside down zipper and I’ve never had an issue. First, it happens to be the most difficult zipper to latch to begin with. Forget diaper changes without waking your babe- you will utterly annoy them with how long it takes to get the latch on. Forget zipping this sack in the dark- you will almost always need a flashlight, which will also wake your babe and/or make you half asleep trip over the bassinet, driving your toenail- your unpolished grown out toenail from both pandemic and m/or postpartum, take your pick- right into your toe, looking for your cell phone for said flashlight. Thanks zipper inventor. Now I’m also going to add to my screen time for the week, because here’s my cell phone I didn’t expect to have in my hand at 3:15am. And now I’m also going to affect my already fragile postpartum self esteem because I’m surely going to look at Lauren Silverstein’s Instagram and compare her momming to mine, because here’s my cell phone I didn’t expect to have in my hand at 3:15am. And considering the state of my toenails, you guess how I’m going to stack up against Lauren Silverstein’s blogger level mom photos. Exactly. Secondly, when you finally latch this zipper made in Mordor, 6/10 times (yes I’ve kept track) it will fail you further and do that weird zipper unzipping thing, where you then have to drag the zipper Back up over an open zipper. This feels so unnatural, and the sound rivals nails on a chalkboard, so obviously your baby will love that too. But wait! The fun’s not over! Now that you’ve woken and/or annoyed your babe twice, and are thoroughly feeling like a failure while you stare at the imprint of a zipper on your index finger, now of course the zipper is open again and now needs to be relatched! Congratulations, you’re back at step 1 again and you realize you are indeed in Hades. The fleece is great quality and the armholes are adequate. Whoever invented the fleece *does not* know the guy who invented the zipper. There’s no way they drink beers after work on a Friday together. No way. The guy who made the fleece is probably also a doctor in his spare time and volunteers saving babies lives in third world countries; the guy who invented the zipper probably pokes sleeping puppies with sticks in his spare time.Worst. Zipper. Ever.

Good, BUT...
I was really excited to get this sleep sack for my daughter. She is currently just a little over 10 lbs and 24 inches...which means she should fit the small. Its doable but it makes me very nervous. It is VERY roomy, and can definitely be pulled up over her nose. I have been securing a hair tie at the bottom to make it shorter and not able to go up so far. Also, I feel like the fleece is pretty warm. All around, I wish I had gotten the newborn size (even though she is technically larger than that one recommends) and I wish I had gotten the cotton material. If your baby isn't at the bottom of the threshold for size and your house is chilly I would recommend.
