Cat Drinking Fountains

We’ve had two of these fountains for almost 4 years and they’ve been great. We did have to replace one pump after about 2.5 years of constant use but it was pretty easy to find a replacement. They are quiet and easy to clean

I like that this is very quiet; stainless steel is easy clean. The volume of water lasts for a good two weeks if need be, and because its running, filtered water it stays FRESH. Its so simple to assemble and clean, or disassemble to move. My new rescue cat took a few days to figure it was HER water, but now uses only it; and my small dog goes into the Cat Room to drink from it now too. My only concern is in the title, there's no easy way to monitor water level. So right now we just wait until it starts making noise (which means it's low because the pump is sucking in air) and we refill. Which works, though the easiest way to refill is just to pour new water into the fountain but, again, no clear level indicator so there's no good way to know when it's full. So that's frustrating. But beyond that, it's great! Super quiet (until it gets low), and very easy to clean either by hand on in the dishwasher. The stainless steel means it doesn't build up any mildew which my old plastic one did, and my cat enjoys it! So, other than the level issue, a great fountain!

It was relatively easy to assemble and it is very quiet while running. I like that this water fountain is stainless steel and the flower on the top is cute. The filter is way easier to get to than my previous water fountain And I like the light, although you can’t turn it off. I wish it had feet on the bottom of the fountain as it’s just a flat ring and seems as though spilled water would just get trapped under it. This concerns me bc of the possibility of the metal rusting or mold growing under the fountain due to lack of circulation of air under the fountain. The water that your cat can get to is shallow and hard to reach because of the water coming out of the flower. So far my cat does not seem to have tried to drink from it but has investigated it. There is a lot of water in the fountain but not above the top pan where the cat can access it. Overall it’s a cute design but the jury is out on functionality for my cat.

I bought this fountain to replace a different fountain I had for my cats. One of my cats will only drink water from a faucet, not a bowl. The previous fountain I had worked pretty well, but showed dirt easily and was loud. This fountain is very quiet and looks great. It is a stainless steel look, which matches my kitchen appliances, so it looks great in my kitchen. The fountain part is also a bit higher than the one on my old fountain, so the cats have an easier time drinking from it. The fountain also came with a round mat that is a nice bonus. It came partially assembled, so there was very little to do to get it going. Another huge plus. This is a great drinking fountain for my cats, and I am very happy I picked it from the almost overwhelming choices online.

I used to have a plastic water fountain for my cat, but despite cleaning it weekly, it seemed like every time I look inside there was pink slime a film on top of the water. When I learned that that was due to bacteria, I was horrified and decided to switch her to a steel water fountain. I ultimately decided to buy this one because it seemed much more hygienic and quieter. I believed that it would be quiet because the old fountain had the same flower on top and was generally quiet. When I opened the package, I was delighted to see two brushes to help clean the small areas. However, I ended up finding multiple issues with this fountain. There are small crevices in the pump that are hard to reach even with the brushes. I clean them as best as I can but I wish they would be easier to reach. The filters for this brand are often out of stock and the filters get dirty so quickly that they only last a week, not 2-4 like the description promises. Also, the fountain is not as quiet as advertised. Every single time I take it apart, it takes a few days for me to adjust it so there's no trickling sound and by then it's almost time to take it apart to wash it again! The pump needs to be in the exact center of the indent, and the placement is hard to figure out with no guide. If I fill the fountain until the max fill line, it makes the dreaded trickling sound. It needs less water than that, and again, the exact amount is hard to figure out with no guide. Also, the removable orange piece in the flower is pushed in, not screwed in. This means that the water flow very easily pushes it up, and then water flows out from between the flower and the orange piece, which makes a loud trickling sound. Lately, the trickling sound has been happening about every 10 seconds or so. I have tried everything and it won't stop. I don't know if it's because of the dent in the top that appeared out of absolutely nowhere or the fact that I had to use unbranded filters because the branded ones were unavailable, but to say that I am going out of my mind is an understatement. I must have misophonia or something because the trickling sound spikes my anxiety and makes me just want to jump out of my skin. Needless to say, I'm in the market for a new cat fountain. I'm having trouble with that because there are very few that are completely steel, have the flower top, and are reliably quiet. Given the issues I described, it just doesn't feel worth buying this one again.
