Moen 169031 Optional AC Adapter Service Kit for Moen Kitchen Faucets with MotionSense

I purchased this AC adapter for my Moen MotionSense kitchen faucet. Thankfully, I read a review here before I made my purchase. Yes, this AC power adapter works seamlessly with the provided 6 AAA battery power pack which comes with the faucet. However, when you plug it in, there MUST be constant power to the outlet you plug it into. I realize this seems like a given, but (as noted by a previous reviewer) if the outlet powers the garbage disposal which is controlled by a wall switch, you have to get a countertop mounted garbage disposal button installed as well. Easy! This button allows you to leave the switch on to power the under-sink outlet, then you plug both the faucet AC adapter and the garbage disposal. My InSinkErator garbage disposal countertop button even has an addition outlet on the under-sink control power box! I’m thankful to have I read about the power issue in a review here, so I hope this review helps you! Fabulous not having to change batteries, and this adapter can be used with/without the battery pack. However, plugging in the battery pack gives you backup power if there’s an outage.

It is Moen, so of course, it works perfectly. The aftermarket ones will likely be fine, but I KNEW this one would be plug and play. It really is nice to eliminate the battery issue.

I recently installed a new Moen Georgenes faucet with touchless control. This faucet comes with a battery pack of six AA batteries. Since the actual valves are located, not in the faucet handle, but in a control unit which clips to the base of the faucet under the sink, all the handle does to send an electrical signal to the control unit to turn on or off to regulate the flow valves. Without the battery pack connected, the faucet will not work. This power unit, which can be plugged into, in my case, a receptacle in the sink cabinet, then powers the faucet. The batteries thus become standby rather than primary for power delivery to the control unit. I called Moen and their price was significantly more than the Amazon price. I would have had to have paid shipping from Moen as well. The Moen lady suggested that I shop around on the Internet, (hint hint).

This is great have as a battery backup. I did not realize the entire faucet was electronic; even the manual lever will not turn on the water if the power is lost. Mount this toward the front of the cabinet so you can easily see the steady green light to make sure the batteries are good and still plugged in. The light status is a great feature of this so you know battery and power status as well bad connection. I have not had mine long enough to know how long the batteries last but we do not lose power that often where we are so I suspect a long time. Note this does not charge the batteries so you need to use good quality Alkaline batteries. Seems a little pricy but there really are not any other options that have these features that I could find.

This is a great product. Performs as advertised. The only reason for four stars is how expensive this is for a simple power splitter. The status lights are very helpful, and installation was easy. If you are considering a Moen MotionSense faucet, buy this at the SAME TIME. While you can definitely upgrade later, buying at the same time opens up additional options for placement of your battery unit. When you buy the faucet first, you have to put the battery unit near the faucet—at the back of your cabinet. But when you buy and install the power splitter at the same time, you can install the power splitter at the back, and then install the battery unit closer to the front. I installed my battery unit on the side of the cabinet. This will make replacing batteries much easier down the line than if I had to reach to the back of the cabinet.

Works amazingly well with my old Moen battery operated Faucet. I was tired of switching 6 AA batteries all the time. But hoping this helps hold off on the battery operation.

Our house was built 30 years ago and we did not have a garbage disposal, but we had a receptacle under the sink. At first this thing didn’t work, but I did a tester and it had no power to it so it was never wired up so I had to trace wires back wired up and now it works perfect.

This should come standard with any Moen Smart faucet. We installed a smart faucet by moen and got frustrated at replacing the batteries all the time. They take 6 D batteries and we were replacing them every other month. Installing this reduced the use of the batteries and now that can be used it the power ever goes out and you still need to use the faucet. This product made it so we didn’t replace the faucet.

This kit is perfect to convert the battery operated faucet into AC powered, yet keeping battery as the back up. Because if there is no AC power the faucet will not work and hence you also have NO WATER! Its expenseive but it does the job.

I have 2 moen faucets with motion sense in my kitchen which are very practical when your hands are dirty,but problem is they are taking each 8 D batteries ,it’s was costing me a fortune on batteries until I found this amazing adapter,I definitely recommend getting this with you have motion sense faucets ,super easy to install too
