Super Food to the max!
Quinoa is a plant protein. Since I've been making myself eat this superfood for breakfast every morning, I've found Ancient Harvest Traditional to be the best overall. I mix it with 2oz of hummus and Mrs Dash Caribbean Citrus. I've been losing weight steadily since sticking to that, and of course, eating sensibly, the rest of the day. Good stuff!

Pre-rinsed, cooks well, good price
I appreciate that this quinoa is pre-rinsed so you don’t have to rinse it before using it like you do some (and especially if you get quinoa from the bulk section of a grocer). It cooks like all other quinoa and tastes the same as well. At under $6/lb it is a pretty good buy as well as packages quinoa is fairly expensive. You can get quinoa cheaper in the bulk section of some grocers, but then you have to contend with rinsing it. It comes in a 3lb package, so it will last you a while. Just a quick cooking tip with quinoa: while the cooking instructions are accurate, if you ‘cook’ it for 15 minutes you will then need to remove it from the heat. Another option, especially if you have a gas stove, is to ‘cook’ it for 10-12 minutes, turn off the stove and let it sit (covered) for 5-7 minutes. I have found this to yield more fluffy quinoa than cooking it for a longer period and then removing it from the heat. Hope this info is helpful!

Good quality; pre-rinsed for easy cooking
While I like quinoa, I'm not all that enthused about cooking it due to the multiple rinsing that it needs to get rid of the saponin to avoid a bitter taste. This quinoa solves that problem since it's pre-rinsed -- it goes right into the pan without any need to rinse it. It cooks up very well on the stovetop, or it can be cooked in a pressure cooker or rice cooker. I find the stovetop method results in the best texture (or at least the best texture for my taste) but good results can be had with other methods. The quinoa comes in a sturdy plastic bag with a resealable top. I prefer storing it in a glass container with a tight lid just for ease of use, but the bag is more than sturdy enough to use for storage. It is a product of the US. The bag I received in September 2021 has a best by date of April 2023. The price is reasonable on a per-ounce basis for a pre-rinsed white quinoa. No complaints -- it's a good quality quinoa that is more foolproof in terms of cooking since you don't need to rinse it. Five stars.

Tasty, with good texture
Well, yum. This turned out really good. The cooked quinoa has a great texture -- it's soft, chewy, with an itty-bitty bit of crunch, too. Mine wasn't gummy or soggy at all. It fluffed up really well, and the grains were separate. Like every quinoa I've tried, it has that odd smell and aftertaste, but it was much better than other brands I've tried.I cooked a half a cup of this in one cup of water, plus I added 1 tsp salt and a tablespoon of coconut oil to the water. The directions on the bag simply say to boil the water and quinoa together; I brought the water to a rolling boil first, then added the dry quinoa, stirred for a scant minute, and covered for the remaining 15 minutes. I turned down the heat to warm after the first five minutes, and turned the stove completely off for the last five minutes. I also let it sit in the pot for 10-15 minutes after I finished cooking it.I like to eat quinoa with black beans and sauteed vegetables. I also cooked some leftovers with my scrambled eggs, and that was good, too. This is a pretty big bag, and it has a resealable ziplock closure at the top.

Hooray for Pre-Rinsed!
Rinsing quinoa before cooking is a pain, although I'll happily do it since I love quinoa. But when you take rinsing out of the equation, as this quinoa from Ancient Harvest does, it makes things much easier. (First-timers often don't know thatmost quinoa needs to be rinsed before cooking, and once they taste the quinoa, they never make it again.) This 3-pound bag of quinoa doesn't have any of the soapy bitterness that incompletely washed quinoa can have. This quinoa has been grown and packaged in the US. It cooks up easily on the stove or in a rice cooker (set to white rice. As expected, the cooked quinoa is fluffy and nutritious.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
