These aren’t the cheapest on amazon, but they are very strong. I was concerned after seeing another reviewer that said their light bar fell off at highway speeds so I attached a safety cable for the first month just in case. After off-roading some rough back roads, and several times driving on the highway at 75 mph with 40+ mph headwind gusts, this thing hasn’t budged. I’m guessing the other persons issue was user error. You might have to bend or tweak the mount a little bit to make sure the magnets sit flush on the steel. Then they are rock solid. I’m using with a 52” curved light bar on the roof of my truck. I love that I didn’t have to drill any holes in my roof, and that it’s far enough back that I don’t have to deal with wind noise or the light reflecting off my hood (like if it was mounted above the windshield). Great mounts. Don’t worry, they are plenty strong if you use them correctly.

Used them to mount LED lights on top of my skid steer. If a limb hits the lights, the magnet allows the lights to fall away instead of being crushed.

So, the magnet is VERY powerful. The base is vinyl coated to help minimize scratching of the surface to which it adheres. I used this magnet to mount a small LED light bar to my snowblower. The light never fell off. However, due to the smooth, painted surface of my snowblower and the smooth vinyl coating of the magnet, the magnet would rotate and not remain pointed in the desired direction due to the vibration from the engine, even at idle. So, though I would highly recommend this magnet for adhering to a stationary surface, I would be very hesitant to recommend attaching it to the surface of any object that is moving that may cause jolting or vibration.

Wow! I placed one of these brackets on one of our square in home steel supports in our contemporary kitchen and it took me about 5 minutes to remove it from the support! I would have never thought these magnets would be so strong! Scary strong! I bought these for a new Kubota tractor to place a light bar and rear work lights! I dropped them by the Kubota dealer today and they were more than surprised how strong the magnets could be! They put 2 of these together and it took 2 guys several minutes to pull apart! I would not hesitate to buy these again! I was concerned about the price of them but I was extremely amazed! All I can say is wow! I would not hesitate to buy again!

The magnets are very strong. I used them to install some lights on my mower. They handled the bouncing of the yard very well and have not moved. You do need to be mindful of branches, it does not take a great deal of force to pull off the magnet. The space below the hole where the bolt goes is tight and I had minor difficulties getting the bolt and nut started and tight. It is do able but I think just a little be bigger opening would be better.

Nowhere near as strong as I hoped, won't even try to use them for what I intended

I tried it on my 2014 Ford Fusion hood first and it did not hold too well only because I found out the hood is made mostly of plastic. then I tried it on the roof and it felt like it was welded on! Had to tilt them side ways to get them off. The roof is all metal and these magnets will not let go easily! I'm putting an LED bar light in front of a roof rack because the headlights on the Fusion are not very bright on rural roads/ interstates in none overhead lighted areas. These magnetic pads are made of many smaller strong magnets arranged in a circle in a thick plastic shell that will not scratch your paint.

I had to remove my light bar to install my winch, and decided to try these rather than drilling holes in the bodywork. I used 2 on a 20 in. light bar and 1 each on 5 in. round lights. They seemed to attach well on flat surface and felt sturdy but at a steady 60 mph all three lights blew off. One bounced down the freeway (didn't hit anyone) and two caught on my roof rack. Cannot recommend.
