Its something different from Michael Crichtons regular sci fi thrillers. Its still a good book and takes you on an amazing journey during the days of piracy.

Michael Crichton at his best.Superbly written in his usual gripping style.A must read for all his fans.

Not the best book of Michael Crichton.

I always loved books and history of Pirates, Buccaneers, Privateers etc. This book is an excellent book that shows the life of the colonial island of Port Royal a British Colonial Island. The books talks about a daring treasure snatch from the Spanish Regime. And lots more. Fierce fight in the hurricane, fight with Krakens, escaping cannibals and lastly a terrible back stab which leads to a royal court room scene and then vengeance. I would say i had a fantastic time reading this books and loved the writing style of Crichton.
