First off the screw cap from the kit does not fit the Rotopax container however we could reuse the Rotopax cap with the kit and it seals excellently. The Scepter Spout kit includes a seal that not only seals but actually attaches to the inside of the spout so it wont fall off as soon as you remove the cap (like Rotopax does). Job well done there. Great Fast Pour: And how does it pour? Oh my....does the Scepter it pour! Emptying a 3.5 gallon can with the Scepter spout takes about 45 seconds with good healthly gulps of air as it empties. The pressure equalizer is a good design that works very well. In contrast using the Rotopax spout it might take 6 minutes to empty a 3.5 gal container.....its a very slow and arduous process to hold the can in place and at the same time push on the spout so it will leak gas into the tank....and the operative word here is leak.... it takes forever. thank you Scepter! Flexible Spout: The spout is somewhat flexible so it allow one to insert the tip into the filler before tipping the can to pour fuel. So much better then the rigid Rotopax that no matter how careful you are end up spilling gas down the side of the vehicle Great value: Well worth the $16/pair for the spouts. They save so much time during filling and help the environment by making easy to not pour gas down the side of your vehicle. Review: These work without leaks on Scepter made cans. Heres how to cap the nozzel! - These spouts work fine for Ameri-Can or Scepter manufactured cans. Scepter is who makes the spout. These are the Canadian version and marked that way on the package. I was able to install one on my new Ameri-can I bought at Walmart for less than 10 bucks. My can was manufactured by Scepter in Miami, OK. It fit perfect and the nut is identical to the one that was on it. That is the key for these to work it had to have the cap with the click lock on it and be manufactured by Scepter. It should state that on the manufacture info that was printed into your can. I did remove the annoying black click lock off the can so the nut will go on and off easier. As for capping off the spout. You use the yellow button inside of the nut. For people who can't read and understand the screw on cap is for a VENT on vented cans not available in the USA thanks to Obama. I am concerned you may not be qualified to transport or use gasoline. Also if you have Blitz or other cans not listed in the description you will need a different spout like the EZ-Pour to get the correctly threaded nut for your can.

Works great if you use it right!
It's important to use this thing the right way. Forget about the cap, it's useless. The spout isn't threaded so just trash the cap. Instead, when storing the gas insert to spout inside the tank and use the included disc under the threaded ring to seal the neck. The seal is tight and the spout is safely out of the way. When ready to dispense, just unscrew and pull out the nozzle and resecure to pour normally. The built in vent is a nice touch, it's OK to trim the spout back some which will increase the flow. It threaded perfectly on my Wal-Mart 5 gallon tanks, I'll probably order more because the so-called safety spouts are garbage.

Stock up on these now before they get banned.
Not much you can say about such a simple old fashioned product. In the days before consumer protectionism figured everyone in the USA was a spastic boob, gas cans had easy to use pour spouts and caps. Unfortunately the liberally insane have made products even more dangerous with their nannying laws. Now when you buy a simple gas can you have to press the spout's little release valve really hard against the rim of the opening you are pouring into. If you have a big can (5 gallons) you just have trouble if you are a man and if you are a smaller woman forget it. You usually will spill quite a bit trying to force down the spout. I have a one gallon can I bought for filling my lawnmowers easily (after having problems filling from a 5 gallon can) and it has a gigantic hard to use spout. Lawnmowers do not have very big tanks to fill and being able to force the valve piece against the rim is not easy. I got these and they work OK. The only problem I have is with the length. By the time you lift the can high enough to pour you get a much stronger stream flowing from the spout than you want to put a pint or so into a small receptacle or tan,. I suggest a model with a spout about half the size. I am sure the Nannies will force them to take this off the market for one reason or another so I am seriously considering buying a few more.

A big improvement over so-called NO SPILL spouts
This really fits the 5 gallon gas cans sold at Walmart. Looking closely at those cans, you see that they are made by Scepter, which appears to be the manufacturer of these spouts. Some other spout manufacturers claim to have "universal fit", but I had to send one back that made this claim, because it just didn't fit. The best part of these Scepter spouts is that they are self-venting..they allow some air to get back into the can while you're pouring. Many of the modern cans do not include vents, so this feature is useful. In case you don't know, the US Federal Government has required manufacturers to create and provide "NO SPILL" spouts with cans made in the last 7-10 years. I've tried three brands of these "No Spill" spouts and they are all ridiculous. They either don't work at all, or they quickly break. They are too rigid and short to allow you to pour gasoline into a car!!! How stupid is that?! Enter the Scepter spout, which allows you to pour gasoline wherever you want. And because it is simply and reliable, you'll actually spill little or no gasoline! The only negative to the Scepter spout is that the pour hole at the end of the spout is rather small, so the speed of pouring can be annoyingly slow, such as when you are trying to empty 5 gallons into a car's gas tank. It is just right for pouring slowly and in a controlled manner, however, so with a little patience, this will be just right for filling cars, generators, lawnmowers, etc.
