The Arabesque Coloring Book

Beautiful designs ...
I bought 2 copies of this book, one at Hobby Lobby & the other from Amazon, along with its companion book, "The Mandala Coloring Book" (bought both from Hobby Lobby).First off, the pages are printed on both sides which I do find disappointing. I generally won't buy the book if the printing is double sided, UNLESS 1) I really like the designs in the book, 2) the paper quality is good, & 3) the cost of the book is reasonable to begin with, as I then will buy 2 copies of the book. I then take it to Office Depot and they have a commercial paper cutter and I have them cut the binding to free the pages (they've done 4 books so far & not charged me for this service either). I then can collate the two copies together. That lets me color on only one side of the page, and I have a page for each design. I used to prefer a coloring book to have perforated pages but now that I can have my local Office Depot cut the binding for me, I will do that from now on as you then get clean edges instead of the little leftover nubs from the perforations (I also would use an Xacto knife to cut out pages, but then you don't get a nice even edge, so I will retire that method in favor of Office Depot doing that task for me).The paper quality of this coloring book is very good. Much heavier than some coloring books I have. I started coloring a page from this book last night using a combination of Staedtler, Stabilo, Sharpie (their art pens, not the regular Sharpie pens, I think those would bleed thru), Arteza, & Pen+Gear (WalMart brand) fineliner pens and had absolutely no bleed through at all, not even a hint. I even would guess you could color both sides (if you wanted to) and you'd still have no bleed through.Regarding the designs, they are very good quality. However I do recognize some from other coloring books I have. For me, this is not a problem, as the designs are very nice, and it just gives me the opportunity to choose a different range of colors than what I've used before. Some of the designs clearly encompass 2 pages (another reason to pick up 2 copies of the book), that gives you a much larger final product when you're done. A couple look like they're meant to span over 2 pages, but they could easily be done as individual pages. The line weight used is not heavy handed (which I find in many other of my coloring books & that drives me crazy), but it's not so light that it's problematic. There are a couple pages where the design gets very small, it will be tough to color in those spaces with a .03 fineliner pen, & I don't think you could do it with a colored pencil. I may need my 2x or 3x reading glasses to do a couple of these. But, there are some designs that have large spaces to color that would be better suited to using colored pencils as opposed to fineliner pens. As I have a ton of both pencils & pens, that's not a problem for me. Regarding colored pencils, the paper quality is such that I think you could easily use a coloreless blender pencil to blend colors, and not really rough up the paper too much in doing so.If you like these types of designs, do pick up this book, you'll be quite happy with it. If the double-sided printing bugs you and the $9.95 price isn't a problem, buy two copies and have your local Office Depot cut them apart for you, then you can color each one on only one side.I'd also suggest the Mandala coloring book, companion to this one. I've left my review of that book, so go give it a look.I'd like to see this publisher put out some more books in the future, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

エレガントで洗練されたデザイン。上質な紙。見開き両面に豊富な図柄が詰まっています。
Printed in Italy。 Printed in Italy. The delicate design with thin lines of the design gives an impression of sophistication. The design is like finely "lace knitting". Suitable for advanced users. I think it is easy to apply a felt-tip pen with a fine core of 0.5 to 0.7 mm by sharpening the tip of the colored pencil. But if you take the time to enjoy it carefully, you will be able to make a wonderful work. The painting materials are easy to ride, and there is no "stress related to paper quality" that is seen in cheap products made overseas. Since it is not single-sided printing, there are plenty of beautiful designs, and there are two-page spread designs and one-page designs, so you can enjoy using them according to the mood and time of the day. You can fully enjoy a blissful time while listening to your favorite music.
