Painless 30116 Dual Activation Dual Fan Relay Kit

Installed on a 83 Suburban w/ Frankenstein 454 build.Quality unit...but the crimp connectors they include are best suited for the trash can. And like, why do the relays not just come with a splash proof box to mount instead of the open wiring? It would not cost painless pennies and I would gladly pay a few extra bucks.Truck was built by original owner very poorly. The previous owner tried to fix it but also did a poo job. She had installed this same wiring harness....and it worked, kinda.....but.....she did not read the instructions or understand that you want the wires as short as possible. She also added wire that was too small and this eventually caused the wiring to heat up and melt the relays.Sense replacing properly....ive had zero issues. Its been 90+ here in Missouri and this big truck has zero issues with iver heating.

Item as described. This is my first use of a Painless Wiring product but I've heard many good things about them. The wiring gauges appear to be adequate for what it's designed to do. Out of the 5 screws provided, only 3 will work to mount the relays. The other two, intended for the Fuse Holder, were too small to be of use in my mounting scenario. Had to get some longer self tapping machine screws. Only included one spade connector for the thermostat connection so I will need to lay my hands on another one. Wires are labelled and have plenty of length for the vehicle and application I am installing into and should have sufficient length for most installations. Also, will need to acquire 2 ring type connectors for the main power lead as well as the main ground wire. Neither will work for my install. Although the installation is not complete as of the date of this review, I expect this item to work as advertised as soon as it is properly installed and powered up. Neatness, thorough planning, proper routing of wires, and proper wire protection will assist you greatly in this install. I recommend acquiring some Wire Loom to put the wires in. This will make it easier to place the wiring along an existing wire path as well as protect them for the long haul. Also, for the pink wire (SWITCHED 12V LEAD) I strongly suggest you pick up an "ADD A CIRCUIT FUSE TAP". This will make that part of the install a piece of cake. Just search for the words in between the quotes and find the right size tap.

The wiring harness is awesome! Instructions are clear and easy to follow... However the switch was DOA. I verified proper wiring by by-passing the switch and the fans turned on as intended. My coolant reached 210 without a budge to the system. I would rate higher if only the seller would replace the bad switch without me having to go through hoops.

Works as intended. Ac was a bit colder with the dual fans running on high. We've had enough 100+ plus days now to test my fan choice out. Controller works great and the temps stayed below 200* while idling for extended times. I'll go with this again on each truck from now on!
