Plus size midline incision hysterectomy necessity
Once you get over the shock of the words "midline abdominal incision" you have to start thinking practically. It will be uncomfortable, but you can make the recovery feel significantly easier with the use of an abdominal binder. And that binder had better be EASY TO PUT ON AND ADJUST BY YOURSELF.You will recognize the utility instantly at the hospital. The nurse will help you put it on and adjust it at first, but when you go home you should be able to use this device on your own, it gets easier with repetition. This is a nice binder. The nurses were impressed by the ease of application and the variable size, even in my size there was plenty of room to adjust and add a padded support board. The doctor was pleased with the vertical length and overall size of the device.I bought several different styles and this is BY FAR the easiest to apply. It does not take much effort to arrange it basically and then adjust for comfort. Before surgery you may think that you want it TIGHT, but you don't, you want it just right. It isn't a corset and you don't want a corset right after surgery even if you are certain beforehand that you will. Especially if you have staples. Trust me.I cannot recommend this strongly enough. It is of high quality and easy to hand launder, but you WILL want at least two so that you can always have one to wear while the other is air drying.Regarding the comments about moving - it's elastic and not boned, it's going to shift in position a little, but it is very easy to adjust into place. It makes more difference than I can express, I am two weeks post surgery and my staples were just removed today. Because of my binder and I can transfer alone with little to no discomfort. I am 5'10 250lb and disabled by severe MS 100% assisted walking**Update**I am now 3 months post surgery and still wearing this on a daily basis, though not 100% of the time and I would not get into a car without it yet. I'm looking for a cooler material for summer, but I still consider it a necessity and absolutely recommend it if you are having abdominal surgery.

Sizing Misleading
Looks like a quality product but the sizing is a bit misleading. I ordered an xl because I am 51 inches in my mid section at my biggest point and the xl states it fits 42-53 inches. It barley fit me if I stretched it tight, but then it was way too tight for me to wear it. If extreme tightness is not what you are looking for best to try the next size up. If I exchange for the bigger size, I'll update my review

Review
I bought this for a friend through my account that needed it and then my sister died and I had to go out of town. I know it did not work for her, but I was not able to return it because I had already left and she is elderly. It was so much larger and very flimsy. There was no way that was going to do what she needed to do for her.

Helped after surgery
Did what it was supposed to do. It helped keep my stomach movement to a minimum after my hysterectomy.

So far so good
Just had a c-section and because I'm a plus size woman with a long torso the doctor suggested to the nursing staff to use 2 hospital binders on me. The 2 were good but not as comfortable as just being able to use 1. I ordered this binder and it arrived the day I came home from the hospital. So far it's been great. My husband helps me put it on. I don't feel like I constantly have to readjust it like when I was using 2. I havent had any issues with it bunching up under my belly where my incision is or rolling up on my back. Will update if anything changes.

Don't work for curves
This item is not for a curvy body type. It bunches up when you set down. The bunching is in the worst spots due to the type of abdominal surgery I had. I have 4 different incision locations that make this kind of brace not suitable. So maybe for a single incision or different abdominal surgery it wouldn't matter so much on the bunching but for me and my situation it does. It could be even my body type that causes the material to bunch. Just somethings to really look into before someone makes a decision. Hope this helps someone.🫠
