Wonderful cordless sweeper! Get one!
This is a SUPER cordless sweeper I use for our new LVP (luxury vinyl plank) wood floors. I wish I had it years ago! We use it each night to clean up our kitchen wood floors as I am really messy. It works so well. We have a Dustbuster but we were tired of all the bending over and having to go out to the garage where it sits on the charger. My other cordless sweeper had to charge hanging on the wall. I hated that because it was in the garage also being too ugly to hang in the kitchen. This one has a battery that fits on the sweeper so I keep it handily in my kitchen pantry for ease of access. The battery removes to charge and fits into a charging unit which sits on my kitchen counter unnoticed. It is the size of 3 pieces of bread stacked one on top of another. The sweeper has a light that tells you when the battery is full, down 1/3, down 2/3 or empty. And it is so easy to use!!! It is lightweight, moves easily on wheels, has a switch for suction only or one for the bristles for carpet. The handle swivels as does the head making it so easy to steer. It picks up everything (we have no pets so I can’t address pet hair) and has made my life so much easier. I used it on our area rug and it worked well between actual vacuuming. I highly recommend this! My cleaning lady who has cleaned for 20 years was very impressed with it and is considering one for herself.

Great - I love it!
I owned the original Hoover Platinum Linx Cordless Stick Vac for ten (count them 10) years! Model BH50010. Up until that purchase, I had to replace stick vacs every two years or less. I was amazed at the longevity and performance of this stick vac. During that time, I replaced the roller and the battery. The battery replacement was after 7 years of usage. After replacing, it was like a new unit. When the power nozzle motor went (after 10 years), it was not cost effective to buy a replacement part. I purchased the BH50020 as it was basically the same, but a newer model. I have the replacement battery from the old one to use while the new one is charging. My home is a combination of carpet and tile. I have two cats. This unit does a great job on hair, kitty litter, kitchen spills (coffee grounds, crumbs, etc.). It does an excellent job on carpets too when I don't feel like dragging out my big Dyson. Great for quick cleanup and sprucing up. I hope this one lasts as long my old unit. I'm not a spring chicken anymore and this unit is light and easy to handle. I also like that I don't to plug the entire unit to charge. No docking station. Just charge the battery in the charger (separate from the unit). I would highly recommend this product. I did try the Shark and the Dyson stick vacs, but I do not like the weight in my hand and found them harder to maneuver. Again, I would highly recommend this Hoover cordless stick vac.

Best for Quick Tidying
The Hoover Linx Rechargeable Sweeper fits neatly in the niche between my daily robot sweeper and our heavy duty deep-cleaning powerhouse floor vacuum. Our suburban Montana family includes a large domestic short hair cat, a gigantic Bernese Mountain Dog, our active 13 year old son, his equally outdoors loving dad, and me... an aging Granola Mom with waist length white hair. Keeping our hardwood floors and area rugs clean amid desert sand, construction grit, plus ALL our tracks, shed hair and fur is a daily task. The Pluses: - The Hoover Linx shines for spot cleaning messes such as dry kitchen spills, homeschooling paper shreds, or high-traffic dust paths between deep cleanings. It's what we reach for when someone cries, "Uh oh, I spilled!" shortly after the house has been cleaned. - The cordless feature is handy for quickly getting into tight spots that primarily get dusty - - the space between the bed and the wall, for example. - It's small and light enough to unobtrusively tuck into a convenient corner, so it's easy to use when needed. The Minus: - Unfortunately, the Hoover Linx does not handle hair wrap or dust Bunnies well. The vacuum quickly clogs; therefore, it is inadequate as a primary cleaning tool.

This cordless vacuum is everything I hoped it would be!
I purchased this HOOVER BH50020PC Linx Signature Cordless 18V Lithium Ion Stick Vacuum Cleaner a few weeks ago, and I love it. I'm a senior citizen with limited strength and stamina. I wanted a lightweight, cordless vacuum that would be easy for me to use, and this unit is perfect for my needs. I use it nearly daily to tidy up a bit between having my house more thoroughly cleaned. I have small birds whose seed hulls, feathers, and down escape from their house and make their way onto the carpet. I also use it to get up dirt and crumbs on my kitchen and bathroom linoleum. It makes quick work of all my tidying-up type surface floor cleaning. This little vacuum cleaner is even more lightweight and quiet than I expected it to be. It's much easier for me to use than I expected, and much easier than it would be for me to wrestle with my full-sized vacuum and then a broom and dust pan. I do not expect a stick vacuum to be able to compete with my full-sized, corded Hoover Windtunnel vacuum cleaner, in suction or efficiency, but this little cordless vacuum has plenty of suction for my quick tidying-up purposes. I keep it in a hidden corner, where it's quick and easy for me to take out and use. The dust-collection bin is easy and quick to empty. (I'm always surprised at how much more is in that little bin than I expected!) The battery is also quick and easy to remove, charge, and replace, when it needs it. I probably get four or five days' worth of quick cleanups before it needs recharging. I could not be happier with this little vacuum. I use it nearly daily, and it does everything I hoped it would do.

Easy to use and great suction
I bought this vacuum to run in-between using my large canister vac. This works so well that I haven't even gotten out my canister vac since I bought it several weeks ago. It maneuvers around really easily, you can easily point it off in another direction to move around furniture and table legs. This was a little weird at first because the body of it sort of twists a bit, but I got used to that fairly quickly. It's super lightweight, so I don't even *have* to run it myself - I can make the kids do it. They weren't able to manage the corded canister vacuum due to its size and weight. The great part is that it's so easy to use, when I intend to just run it in the entry way I end up vacuuming the whole living room. And then into the dining room. Oh, and then down the hallway... And I should note that I really don't like to vacuum. I have berber carpet in my house, and so I don't even get the satisfaction of having nice vacuum lines, so I can't even tell I've done anything, UNTIL I go to empty the dirt container and I can tell it's working great. I was really shocked at how much dirt it picked up the last time. My house must be disgusting. I can't speak to how it works for pet hair as we do not have any pets. It stands up on its own, I don't have to lean it against anything, so I can just leave it in the corner of my kitchen. The battery charger is a separate piece, and the battery just plugs into the top. It has an indicator light so that I can tell when it's completely charged. Overall this is a great vacuum. I wish I had bought it a long time ago.

I am surprisingly delighted with this cordless Hoover vacuum
I am surprisingly delighted with this cordless Hoover vacuum. It's world's better than the battery-powered cheap sweepers from years back. I ordered mine to supplement full-house cleaning with a standard canister-style vacuum. Upon unpacking the unit, the dirt receptacle took me a few minutes to understand. I think I was holding it upside down while trying to exercise the button which releases the dirt. It turns out that when held upright, a button press is all it takes, as the door opens itself (from gravity) and the dirt falls right out. Your hands don't touch the dirt. Very nice. And there can be a lot of dirt in there! In both carpet-cleaning and floor mode, I was amazed how much cat fur and debris was sucked up. The main attraction to cordless vacuums is likely convenience. Compared to pulling out my canister vac, there's no contest! Vacuuming is no longer a chore I deplore. There's a risk of the battery losing power during extended cleaning sessions. I have't used it for more than 5-10 minutes at a time, so this hasn't been a problem for me. I can't speak to the longevity of the unit, as I've only had it about 1 month. I am happy that Hoover covers the LiNX for 2 years. The Linx is so effective, I'd recommend it to apartments dwellers as their only vacuum, especially if they're limited in space or $. For others who already have a standard vacuum but are looking to supplement it with something more convenient, I recommend the Linx.

PIECE OF JUNK!!!
UPDATE: I downgraded this vacuum from four stars to a lousy one star because after a mere four months of light usage the batteries (I bought 2) will not charge anymore, rendering the vacuum completely worthless. What a piece of JUNK!!! (and yes, I always shut it off after the blue light started blinking). I sent it in and it took over six weeks to get my vacuum back! What a hassel!!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this for quick runs to pick up some of the massive amounts of sand and dirt that gets tracked into our shop on a daily basis (3 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs in and out all day). It does an OK job (not stellar), but it won't replace the full sized corded vacuum like I had hoped. It works pretty well on the concrete floors, but it doesn't have enough power to do a good job on the low pile textured indoor mats we have just inside each door. The battery only lasts about 10 minutes (I haven't timed it exactly), so I bought a second battery so we'd always be ready to run over the floors as needed. It's not sleek enough to go under much of anything but it does get up under the toe-kick overhang on the base cabinets that line the walls, thank goodness. The head is on the smaller side and it feels a little flimsy, but the biggest negative is there are no attachments to get above ground or into any tight spaces (but I knew that when I bought it). The cordless feature is it's greatest claim to fame, and it's very lightweight too and the dirt cup on the Signature model is plenty big for our needs. All in all, I think it was worth the money but we'll see how well it holds up over time.

My second Hoover Linx... And I still love it. Great for daily use or quick clean up.
This is my second Hoover Linx. I had the older model and it just recently quit after 3 years of daily use. I consider that durable for a vacuum of this size and this price. I got this vacuum because I have a labrador retriever who sheds a good deal as well as a little one who likes to make messes, and I'd like to keep our floors clean. While I do have a full-size canister vacuum that works well, I wanted something that I could very quickly and easily run around the house or use for a small clean-up. This was the perfect solution for me. It has enough battery power to do the main level of my (cape cod) house and then some on a full charge. Also, I like that the battery doesn't start to wane in power as it is getting low - it just stops when it is empty. It only takes a couple hours to fully charge. It picks up my dog's fur and just about everything else very well on both low pile carpet or hard flooring. This was my first battery-powered vacuum and I was really surprised by how well it does. I occasionally have to clean the brush (which is necessary on any vacuum when someone in the house has longer hair) and I've replaced the air filter a couple of times - they are inexpensive. After accidentally vacuuming something larger, I did have to extract the clog (which was pretty easy) but that could happen with any upright. Even after 3 years, the battery life only decreased a small amount. This new model is a bit heavier than the first but not enough to be an issue. I can still easily carry it around and on stairs (and I am not very strong). The wheel base is slightly different than the first model which seems to make it turn a little more smoothly. I am told that it has slightly more power and it does seem to have better suction, but I'm not sure if I'm noticing that because this one is new or if it really is made to have better suction. Also, if you have any issues, Hoover's customer service is excellent. You get an actual, real person on the phone with minimal wait. If you are looking for a convenient vacuum for daily use or quick clean up, THIS is your guy.
