Hungarian Oak Cubes Medium Toast - 1 Pound

Great product at a great price.Packaging was great, no damage/holes.Upon opening the bag, there was a pleasant aroma from the toasted cube.I chose to use cubes instead of the more readily available oak chips due to the fact that they are more forgiving when left in the brew too long.I soak the cubes (3 oz/5 gals brew) in Jim Bean Bourbon for approx 3-4 weeks prior to adding them to the secondary. When ready to use, I drain the Jim Bean and drop the cubes into the brew. Tried it in a Russian Imperial and Belgian Tripel so far with great results.

Great flavor for aging whiskey

Great value it you like to age your bourbon.Awesome taste .I could not wait and broke into a bottle after one week and it was awesome.I have some I’m aging for 6 months .I can’t wait

This tastes exactly and smells awesome. It added a lot to the neutral spirit that I aged with it.

Used these in an imperial walnut stout and also in a Belgian tripel. Soaked one ounce of cubes in a couple ounces of bourbon for 1 to 2 weeks. Racked the beers in secondary onto the bourbon and cubes. Got a wonderful coconut and vanilla flavor from the cubes in the tripel. Nice wood and caramel flavors added to the stout. These added exceptional flavor to my beer, but are now double the price just a month after I bought them at $15 for 1 lb.. Disappointed in the price hike.

They appear to work well. I am aging spirits with these and they give good color. These cubes are leaving a small amount of fine dust in the spirit as opposed to other oak cubes I’ve used. I will filter it later but a good thing to know. Most likely will NOT affect final product.

Brewed a bourbon barrel stout with these cubes. I soaked them in vodka for two months and got a very very young whisky with a nice vanilla and toasted oak aroma. I was so surprised at how smooth it was I saved some for drinking by itself. Added the 'whisky' and the cubes to the stout and let age for 2 months. Ended up being great! A stout with mild whisky flavor with a boozy finish.

Nice product - reasonably priced. Good oak flavor without bitterness. Clean & easy to use
