Review: Safety Without Sacrificing Space - I recently installed the Retractable Baby Gate in my home, and it's been a game-changer for child safety. Standing at 33" tall, it provides ample protection without obstructing the view or feeling imposing in my living space. One of the best features of this gate is its retractable design, which allows me to easily extend it up to 55" wide when needed and then tuck it away neatly when not in use. This versatility makes it perfect for areas with limited space or irregular openings, giving me the flexibility to create a secure barrier wherever it's needed. Installing the gate was a breeze, thanks to the included hardware and clear instructions. Plus, the child safety lock ensures that little ones can't tamper with it, providing added peace of mind. Overall, the Retractable Baby Gate has been a fantastic addition to my home. It strikes the perfect balance between safety and convenience, and I love knowing that my child is protected without compromising on style or space. If you're in need of a reliable baby gate that's easy to use and doesn't take up valuable floor space, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
Review: Excellent product! - I was pleasantly surprised this product turned out so perfectly. I have cats and dogs, but I purchased it for the dogs. Between the kitchen and the living room I needed a barrier but then also from time to time I would like a barrier from the living room to the hallway that leads to the bedrooms. And so this product is excellent because it allows for two locking mechanisms. At first I didn’t believe it could be true but it is true. The actual retractable barrier is mounted on the fulcrum or center post that pivots the two doorways I needed blocked. So with two sets of locks included I could mount one on the living room and kitchen wall side and then I could mount the other on a perpendicular living room wall that then blocks the entrance to the hallway. One gate used multiple ways. I believe this solves the problem I had completely. I am very grateful and I highly recommend. However, I must say that without trained dogs you may witness their creative nature try to squeeze under the gate. It’s flexible and see through and honestly not completely impossible to escape if they are small dogs, my cats go under it all the time especially to escape the dogs in a hurry. Good news is the gate is not affected by the cats bursting under it and my dogs are trained enough to respect the gate. I know the dogs can bust out of it, and I think they probably do too but for the most part they stay where they are without disobeying the gate being closed on a room. I am so glad, It cuts down on a lot of frustration and accidents that used to happen before. Another perk is it matches perfectly with the beige on my walls. So it’s hardly noticeable and it’s easily retracted back out of the way and out of sight really. I love it and I recommend to anyone looking for something they can use in this way.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are the sides solid ? Can a cat crawl through the sides ?**
A: The gate mounts outside of the opening, so the sides shouldn't be an issue, but the bottom "gaps" because it cannot be pulled taught enough and because it doesn't touch the ground. The cat would likely be able to "shimmy" under the bottom. That's what my small pup does.

**Q: I want to do an inside mount with the retractable gate between two posts that are 3" wide. Are the mounting brackets narrow enough?**
A: Just measured it. The width of the mounting bracket on the main retractable side is 2.5”. The width of the mounting bracket on the other side is 2”.

**Q: What material is it?**
A: Hi friend,
This baby gate is made of alloy roll mandrel, PVC mesh and ABS plastic accessories.
When you use the baby gate, please ensure to lock it and provide a safe and enclosed environment to play.

**Q: Can this be installed vertically?**
A: It can be installed vertically, you can see the video.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Functions well!
*by S***Y on August 27, 2026*

I bought this to keep our big dog from being able to access our little dog’s food bowl. So it was actually the goal for her to be able to go under it and it works perfectly for that purpose. If I had needed a gate to keep a small dog or child (our toddler also crawls under it) out of an area, this wouldn’t have really worked easily because of our baseboards. It would have been difficult to install low enough to keep smaller beings from going under it. Just something to keep in mind! For our purposes, it’s great. It rolls out and in smoothly. Our 5 year old is able to operate it from both sides (another big factor for us). I love that when we don’t need it, it’s not in the way or an eyesore. We’ve had it almost 2 years and it’s still in perfect condition.
