BUT REPLACED. Thank you Ox Tools - Adjustment: I wrote to Ox and they are sending a replacement so moved the score to 5. This is my second Ox pencil. It’s a newer design to my first and dad to say it’s just stopped working. Will not release the lead as the metal core falls out. My first purchase is still working fine except the plastic bits that hold it in the case have worn down and it kept falling out - hence the second purchase. All in all very disappointed. Will this thing take a jobsite beating** A: Great questions! The stainless steel tube runs the bottom half of the pencil. The TUFF Carbon pencil will, most certainly, withstand quite a beating. The only part that is subject to abuse is the mechanism itself; if used properly, it will be a long-lasting tool. **Q: Does this work well on sheet metal/dusty sheet metal?** A: I bought it to work on metal. You will need to get the silver streak refills though. Also, try and keep it interesting in the bedroom. All in all very disappointed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant pencil - hard wearing *by A***R on 10 May 2026* Great pencil for marking on wood and other outside jobs ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ok *by S***S on 15 November 2023* These are good if you work indoors, but when you are out in the rain they dont last long. You might get a few weeks or months out of it, but once it gets wet inside its unusable. The lead just slides back inside with any pressure, but while it works its good. The lines are dark and easy to see, stay sharp for a decent amount of time.
