I use the GymNext timer in a novel way: outdoors, powered by a 12V battery. It performed fantastically. It was the critical element of a 7 hour run/walk, and if it had failed my event would have had to be abandoned. It worked beautifully, and with a little home-made sun-shield it was easy to see even on a sunny day.The best part about this product is the company behind it and the customer support. I had previously ordered a cheaper one sold by a company in China, that didn't do what its marketing promised it would do. The flexibility and control of this device, along with the amazing service makes me wholeheartedly endorse the product and the company behind it.Build quality, display quality, sound quality -- all excellent. The app is intuitive and flexible enough for pretty much any scenario.

Archers that had a very fast pace slowed down. Whereas, archers that had a slow pace sped up. Either way, the archer’s anxiety is lower when they know exactly how much time is left during their end. When properly paced, NASP archers have time to let down their arrow (when something is not going right) and redo the 11-Steps to Archery Success.Tips for using the GymNext Flex Timers for NASP:Flex Timers: Use multiple (synchronized) Gym Edition timers, located above the arrow curtain, evenly spaced. Whether the archer is left or right-handed, in the 1st or last lane assignment, the height of the 4-inch digits allows all archers, coaches and spectators to easily see the shot clocks from anywhere in a school gym.Wall Mounts: Mount the Flex Timers with a TV / monitor wall mount that allows you to tilt and pan the Flex Timer towards the 10 and 15 meter shooting lines. Consider adding a cage with shield to protect the timers. Consider physically disconnecting the buzzer to ensure it will never emit any sound during practices and tournaments.Phone: Use a dedicated phone for the Flex Timer app with the phone volume muted. The app only uses Bluetooth to communicate with the Flex Timers. It’s big and visible. Very bright. I like that I no longer need a remote to program it.A few minor complaints though. The app is buggy sometimes. Ex. Voice sound is not synchronized to the timer by a few seconds. Sometimes, sound does not come through speaker at all even though it is connected. Last, I was hoping that the voice would still work even if my phone’s screen was off to save battery. Turns out, the phone must always be on otherwise no voice.Another issue with the clock itself: the 3rd number from the left glitched and only the left most segments would turn on. Only a reset would fix it. This issue was rare and didn’t really affect my workout.It also arrived with some scuffs at the side frame. The glass seemed flawless, however.I was quite surprised to see that the volume of the buzzer can be changed. I found the default to be too loud so I lowered it to minimum and it’s perfect.Would still recommend to anyone. Worth the price.
