This worked perfectly with my Honda Accord. While security torx bits are not that hard to find, having the caps at least hides what type of bit is needed. Also the caps also make it a little more difficult to access the screws which also helps detour theft.

This is a pretty good kit, and worked for one of my two cars. My honda odyssey’s rear bracket aligned perfectly with the machine screws they included. I like that they also included different screws, washers and nuts if needed, but I didn’t. The picture in the listing showing installation was all I needed. These screws were too big for the machine screw holes on my 2020 Tesla 3, FYI. A neighbor’s plates were stolen this week and I’m confident that this extra step will protect my plates from thieves in a hurry, since it’s a torx bit but with an indentation, so someone with a Philips screwdriver or even a torx bit will probably just move on. I do with the kid had some instructions with different possible configurations, and maybe two sizes of screw to be more widely useful.

I bought this a few years ago, I am always fretting about people taking stuff that has a minimal chance of being taken. It worked really well. I remember having my plate transferred to a new vehicle this year and the car dealer switching the plates and having to go in to get a special tool for my plates. Honestly, at that point, I had forgotten about the antitheft kit. Fast forward to yesterday, I got a new plate from my state. Went to put it on, encountered my anti theft license plate screws... realized I had totally lost the tool. Tested out a bunch of mine, didn't work. What did work was getting on Amazon and overnighting a new kit :) Great marketing plans man, would do this entire shin dig again with this great product.

Peace of mind for the GX. These look great in black and the tamper-proof head means nobody is walking off with my plates. Stainless steel so no rust.

Pro: It does the job at a reasonable price. I appreciate the drill bit being included. Con: Several of the screw covers did not fit tightly, so my plates now have some exposed screws from when the covers fell off. Not a huge deal unless you want your car to have perfect aesthetics.
