I would have to say that this sub mixed with the factory Mac amp sounds great, I am very impressed
I have used this sub to go with a McIntosh stereo upgrade in my 2005 Subaru Outback. I was a bit unsure at first as most research I have done people were saying the stock McIntosh amplifier is rubbish and you can't get decent bass from it !! The stock sub speakers are usually 8" and they have there own enclosure and mounting section in the rear cargo area. I have this fitted into a custom made enclosure and have mounted it against the side in the cargo area and have converted one of the small storage holes to take the rest of the speaker. I would have to say that this sub mixed with the factory Mac amp sounds great, I am very impressed :)

Buy something else
Not enough power, sounds ok I guess but I wouldn't buy one again. They are the low end of JBL for sure.

Great Sub for the price
Surprisingly very good for the price. Like many said its not a bass head woofer but it gives good mids and bass. I think its best for stock stereo improvement. Sounds great for my stock system. it was what i was looking for.I have had many systems and higher end tend to give tons of bass which its what its intended for but what happen to the mids? This gives the mids and some bass. not crazy bass but it gives bass.

Heck of a deal !!!!
My cars stereo system needed help. I put in 2 of these JBL 10's in a dual 10 sealed enclosure, and powered them with a Rockford Fosgate P600-2 amp. They drive really hard only getting 125-150 watts each @4ohm. Wired them to the right and left channels (not bridged). I wanted a good sounding set of subs that requires minimal wattage to produce. These JBLs do way better than I ever expected. They are made with the heavy duty butyl rubber surround and have large magnets as well, so I would anticipate a long life from these. I paid only 65 bucks for the pair onAmazon also. My only gripe would be that it would have been nice to get these in dvc or svc 8 ohms. Impressed!!!!

It is JBL!
Great sound! I added this to my RV. Made the storage under one of the bench seats a box. Maybe a little big but still sounds great. I love it.

... to a bridged 500w 2-channel amp and it sounds great to me
Hooked up to a bridged 500w 2-channel amp and it sounds great to me. More than happy with this given the price.
