I bought this adapter for a 2 week trip to the UK and was pleased with its performance. It does not convert voltage, but my electronics did not require the conversion, only the correct kind of plug. (Turns out most devices nowadays are dual-voltage -- look it up!)You can slide the levers on the sides to push out a variety of plug shapes. This adapter will fit outlets used in the UK, US, EU, and Australia. A list of countries is included. I've only used the US and UK plugs so far. Another pro (and why I bought this) there are 4 USB ports -- two on the sides that output 2.4A and two on the top that output 1.5A, as well as a universal outlet that accepts regular plugs. The literature claims you can plug in 150 countries' plugs there, but I only tried 2- and 3-prong US plugs, which worked fine. I also only charged a max of 3 items at any one time (my phone and external battery in the smaller-output USBs, and a laptop or camera battery charger in the plug). All devices charged without issue.I like the compact size -- it's about 3"x2"x2", or about half that if you detach at the silver border and just use the EU plug. The adapter comes with a black nylon zippered case, which I found convenient for packing and protecting the thing.Have not tested the surge protector function, nor have I charged with all 4 USBs and the plug at the same time to test full charging capacity. Also the company included this weird little...cord wrangler strap? With a cartoon English guard? It was labeled in the box as a free extra and it's not a bad thing, just baffling and not useful to me.

I bought this for my son in 2016 for his trip to Argentina. It worked great! We are planning a trip to Europe this Spring, so I pulled it out. I didn't have the instructions, and was a little sad that it didn't have the adapter I would need for the the countries I'm going to. I watched the review video on Amazon and I was WRONG. The video showed me that it comes apart and the the adapter I needed was there. Super excited. Thanks for the assist.

I purchased this in anticipation of a trip I will be taking this spring to Ireland and wanted to give some insight into *why* I purchased this particular adapter.There are many more on the market that are less expensive but what drew me to this product was the 4 USB outlets contained within the adapter. When traveling, I carry many devices...iphone, ipad, applewatch, external charger. If I were to have to charge these things every night (which I do) I would need multiple adapters and multiple sockets at each hotel stop. It's been my experience that outlets in hotels are limited and when you travel and share rooms with others, as I do, this can create a huge problem trying to get everyone's devices charged. This one charger will allow me to us ONE outlet and charge all my devices. Does it work? I won't know until April and I will update this review when I return.

Advertised as universal- this did not work in Ireland. They use 3 prongs not 2. Tried every which way to work it. No go. My daughter had a cheap plug that worked great. And what is that black plastic in the middle that slides out? Prevented part of plug from going into outlet. Pricey and worthless. Would give a zero rating if I could.

I used this recently on a trip to Scotland. I could charge my phone, my watch and my iPad all at the same time. And trust me, my phone and watch were practically dead at the end of the day from taking so many pictures and googling trip idea options. Definitely worth the cost.

This is the best international travel adapter! Small, lightweight and comes in a great zip up pouch that is so handy in itself. I just bought my second one, only because I gave my other one to my travel partner who loved it also. UPDATE: The reason for the 3 stars is that when I received the second one it didn't come with the travel pouch any longer, which was very disappointing. It also seemed less sturdy than the first one I had. I'm hoping it will hold up!

When I found out that there would only be two regular outlets in our cruise ship room, and two international outlets, I ordered this converter to take along. We were not allowed to take extension cords, so the four usb ports on this adapter really helped to keep our devices charged up. I am sure it will be used in our future travels!

Outstanding product for a great price. Recently used it in Italy and it worked as advertised for charging four mobile devices simultaneously (2 iPhones and 2 iPads). Accidentally used a dual-voltage hair dryer left in the 110V setting. The adapter's fuse prevented damage to the hair dryer, but resulted in the adapter not working anymore. Contacted customer service and they were the best! Even though the misuse was the customer's fault, they mailed a brand-new replacement adapter at no charge. Plus they were super responsive with their emails. One thing to stress about the product, though—it’s an adapter, not a voltage converter.
