Great Customer Service
these chux pads are great and we used them a lot for our first child and are planning to use them for our second. I thought there was an issue with my order, and the service department immediately jumped in to help try to locate the package. they bent over backwards to help out, and after all that, turned out to be a mistake on my end. they were very accommodating! I will continue to purchase from this store!

This underpad saved a baby sheet 3 times in one day!
First of all, this item really works, otherwise I wouldn't be spending time writing this review while being busy raising a newborn baby!I saw chux being used at a hospital and decided to use one at home as well after coming home with a newborn baby. The chux I received from the hospital did feel nice and was fluffy, so, I spent a lot of time looking for a similar item. Some had good reviews, others didn't, some were reasonably priced, others seem a bit expensive for daily use. I chose this NorthShore item based on relatively good reviews. I couldn't decide between "economy" and "premium" for a while, but, after checking the weight of the hospital chux myself, which was 6oz, I decided to try economy first. I'm happy to know that economy is just fine! This chux feels smooth and soft. It is not thick or fluffy, but, it does the job! It is actually good that it is not thick, so that it can be placed over a sheet or a towel and it won't be too fluffy. Also, I noticed from trying a few different types of chux from the hospital that a thick or fluffy chux tend to crumble after a day or so from being rubbed. My baby had a few accidents during diaper change. All the liquid was caught inside this NorthShore underpads and the sheet underneath was fine! I had a few times of failure with the hospital chux when it comes to absorbing liquid, so, I was very pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend people reading this review to give this product a try. I will be buying again once my supply runs out.

specs are incorrect for the 70 count "17 x 24 inch" Does NOT HOLD 6oz and IS SMALLER than stated in product specifications
I ordered the economy 70 count 17 inches by 24 inches. As a matter of fact, here are the specs I was given BEFORE PURCHASE:17 x 24 in. cotton fluff-filled economy underpadsBlue, non-skid, waterproof poly backingMultipurpose pad ideal for incontinence, pets, antiques and more!Absorbency: 6 oz., Weight: 18 grams, Latex-free, Made in the USABag contains 70 bulk-packed padsLets break it down:17 x 24 is not accurate. They are 16 1/2 by 23 1/4 (a total of 25 inches of material NOT THERE)NOW, lets get in to the "usable area" of the pad. That is actually 14 inches by 19 3/4 inches of actual--padded-- space.NOW lets discuss PADDING, it is a thin THIN layer of an absorbent paper. How absorbent? It DOES NOT HOLD 6 ounces as promised. It holds TWO OUNCES comfortably (so you can lift it without dripping)I loaded it up with four ounces, and it was completely saturated. I didn't even try for the six ounces as I didn't want to clean up the mess.I do like that it is made in the USA. I DO NOT like that I purchased something I am not happy with because IT IS NOT AS PROMISED.Had the specs been ACCURATE I would have given this a five star rating, this is a GOOD economy pad but NOT AS ADVERTISED.The accurate specs are:Size: 16 1/2 by 23 1/4 inchesPadded "usable" area: 14 x 19 3/4Thin layer of absorbent materialabsorbency 4ozI am using this for a 2 1/2 pound dog. This will NOT WORK for dogs much larger than that for their urine. It barely works for her urine output.I am now using two of these because she doesn't like piddle on her feet, and will urinate on one (saturating it) and will defecate on another. If the absorbency spec had been correct, and the size correct, she should have been able to urinate and defecate on one pad (like the ones with these specs from the pet store)GOOD POINTS TO THIS PADMade in USA (love that)Latex free (good for those who cannot tolerate latex)The material quickly absorbs liquid.Unfortunately, even though this is a great item I cannot give it a high rating because it does not serve its purpose for which it was intended.I feel like I've purchased a bike with no chain. It looks nice, it is comfortable, but I'm not going anywhere; I am using twice as many pads leaving the cost savings nill.

These pads are great for changing babies and have so many uses.
I always keep one of these pads on my babies changing table. It makes it so easy to clean up after a messy diaper change - no need to be continuously washing the changing pad cover! Also GREAT for travel! I keep a few in the car, I bring them on trips to the grandparents house, vacations, etc. We even use them on the changing stations in public restrooms at the mall, restaurants and even Disney. It's nice to know that you're putting your child on a covered surface to change them. Then you just pick up the pad after and toss in the trash! Recently, I even started using them on car rides in my older sons car seat in case he has a potty training accident. Overall, these are great and have so many uses and the size is perfect.

Time (not to mention energy) saving underpads
We use this for our baby during diaper change and needless to say she has had quite a few blowouts so far.. these really save our time (and energy) washing the fitted sheet cuz she has been having those episodes in the mornings. We gotta wash her dirty clothes anyway.. why add in the work of washing more stuff? I have the washable cloth liners too but nothing like these disposable pads. When I go out to use a public changing table I happily throw this one out along with the diaper which I can't do with a washable/wipe-able liner. Also my LO is becoming too big for the smallest size by 3 months, so I'll just order the next size I think. The cloth liners don't grow with her like that.. I doubt we'd stop buying it until she begins to crawl.

Great Item for Diaper Bags!
We use these on the changing table at home and always have a few in the diaper bag.Pros:-Quite thin, so great to stash in a diaper bag.-Convenient. Great for public places where you don't want to put baby's bum (or your changing pad!) on a dirty surface. I never loved putting our changing pad on a public changing table, and then putting that changing pad back in the diaper bag.-AbsorbentCons:-Because these are thin, they can sometimes move around a bit when you are trying to position them on a changing table.
