A pleasing read for young children.
I read the paper back version of this once in a bookshop and really liked the illustrations. So when I found the boardbook available for a great price on amazon, I simply could not pass it up. I would have given it 5 stars but there isn't much of a story to this so older children may not find it as interesting. However my 6 month old loves books and this will last her a long time. It is a sweet book with beautiful illustrations about a lonely chameleon who changes color to match other objects he sees around him but it doesnt seem to feel right. He finally meets another chameleon and can be himself. While the text of the story does not engage a child much, as theres just 1 word per page (example: Yellow. Banana), it leaves a lot of room for parents to add their own interpretations/morals/fun little anecdotes. As for the book itself- the quality is just fabulous with nice thick sturdy pages and a good size for young readers.

Was der Chameleon so bietet an Charme!

Great for younger kids, perhaps not 4 years though
Great for younger readers. My daughter is 4 and is a bit old for it. We make up a story to go along with the pictures. Beautiful book though. Great for the younger kiddos.

Top marks
This is a big hit with my 3 year old. There aren't many words, so he can already "read it" himself (memorise the words). The sparse text leaves plenty of room to chat with your little one about what the Camilian is thinking and feeling. The illustrations are both beautiful and hilarious.
